Continuous Improvement Engineer (Lean)
Zenith Products Corporation is recruiting a Continuous Improvment Engineer for our office in China. Zenith is a well-established, medium-sized company located in New Castle, Delaware in the United States. Zenith manufactures consumer products sold in most major US retail stores in categories including shower curtain rods, liners and rings, mirrored medicine cabinets, shower caddies, as well as wood, wire, and plastic shelving and storage cabinets.
The Continuous ImprovementEngineer will work closely with our vendor partners to improve processes and look for cost savings opportunities through efficiency gains, elimination of waste, and other such improvements. This individual must be able to quickly analyze manufacturing processes and equipmentas well as develop alternate or streamlined methods that will increase the vendor's productivity and/or product quality. This person will spend a majority of time at our vendor partner's facilities so schedule flexibility and the ability to travel are important.
Responsibilities:
Identifying process problems and recommending solutions to the factory.
Find opportunities to increase productivity in all stages of the manufacturing process from material handling, to equipment set up, to manufacturing process, etc.
Help factory implementimproved processeswith the ability to maintain and repeat them.
Understand Leantools and able to apply it to various manufacturing applications/factory environments.
Minimum Qualifications:
BS/BA in Engineering
Minimum of 2 years of experience in manufacturing and/or process engineering
Highly proficient in MS Office (Advanced in Excel)
Ability to work with engineered or technical drawings
Experience with ACAD or Solidworks
Skilled in Lean Manufacturing methods
Experience in Kaizen events
Strong English Skills in Reading, Writing, Listening, and Speaking
Willing to travel to our vendor factories to analyze processes and work with their staffs on improvements
Additional Desired Experience and Abilities:
Strong analytical abilities
Capable of multi-tasking
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment on a daily basis
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to work flexible hours to meet deadlines
Proven problem-solving skills
Six Sigma training and experience
