Product Manufacturing Engineer
Zenith Products Corporation is recruiting a ProductManufacturing Engineerfor our office in China. Zenith is a well-established, medium-sized company located in New Castle, Delaware in the United States. Zenith manufactures consumer products sold in most major US retail stores in categories including shower curtain rods, liners and rings, mirrored medicine cabinets, shower caddies, as well as wood, wire, and plastic shelving and storage cabinets.
The role of the Product Manufacturing Engineer is to provide expertise and support toour Manufacturing partner facilities in China and our internal Industrial Design staff to bring new products to life. This individual needs to have a thorough understanding of manufacturing equipment and processes as well as the ability to instruct our vendor partners on how to utilize best practices and the most effective methods of production of our goods as well as a design background to ensure the best method of manufacture is used. This person will focus on staffing requirements, production and equipment layout, space requirements, as well as develop adequate quality controls. This position will require frequent visits for factories to work on site with our vendors on both new and current products and processes. This position reports to the Engineering Supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications:
4+ years of manufacturing engineering experience
Engineering degree in related field
2D computer skills (AutoCAD) and Engineering Control Drawing experience
Solid Works 3-D Modeling preferred
In depthknowledge of manufacturing techniques, materials, and processes including plating and painting, injection molding, and metal fabrication.
Document manufacturing process and BOM
Travel to vendor locations to work on projects
Ability to completely manage projects from beginning to end
Capable of developing a comprehensive maintenance program to ensure proper ongoing operations
Superb analytical skills to review available information and form conclusions to optimize the manufacturing process
Preferred Experience:
Ready to Assemble (RTA) furniture for mass retail
Wire and metal tubular products and processes
Plastic materials and processes
Wood materials and construction
Products for mass retail
Additional Desired Experience and Abilities:
Ability to multi-task
Highly motivated
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
Extensive knowledge of Metal forming and stamping, plastic injection molding, zinc casting, painting, and plating
Willingness and desire to learn new thing
