Responsibilities:
Key Accountabilities:
 Lead Category Specialists and support Sr. Manager Common Category Mgmt in management of overall portfolio of category management and sourcing
 Establish objectives, develop and manage the project plans, perform appraisal for any direct reports
 Provide coaching & direction to enable the specialists / team to perform appropriately and meet targets
 Contribute to the development of improved category management strategies.
 Lead 1~3 direct reports, number based on the nature and anticipated volume of spend and complexity for Mechanical & Fabricated Equipments commodities
 Provide inputs and influence to the appropriate category strategy for Mechanical & Fabricated Equipments categories as related to ASIA MARKET, leader for elements of strategy focused on Asia.
 Ensure inclusion of Asia qualified suppliers wherever appropriate into bid strategies
 The category manager may also be assigned as main stakeholder point of contact for specific SPU/Bus or projects
 Deliver value cost savings targets for Mechanical & Fabricated Equipments categories
 Leads the development of tools, templates and systems to improve category team's capability.
 Aggregates demand across user groups
 Proactively explores the wider supply and industry markets to identify ASIA MARKET sourcing opportunities that BP can leverage to reduce cost and mitigate supply risk etc.
 Defines and adjusts category performance measures to reflect business requirements and the prevailing opportunities in the marketplace.
 Define, track and measure supplier performance measures
 Be a key member of category team that performs category strategy, sourcing, supplier negotiations and for those orders placed into the Asia Region, part of the supplier performance management process
 Builds and maintains profiles of supply market and key suppliers
 Actively track the supply market to take advantages of prevailing opportunities
 Is accountable for the accuracy of the data relating to the responsible market sector/categories
 For assigned categories, pro-actively identify Asia market opportunities and pre-qualify potential new suppliers by leveraging Asia supply market knowledge and intelligence.
 Guide and manage the category specialist to implement and realize value from Asia supply market through effective cooperation with global PSCM and business team
 Develop relationships with key strategic suppliers for segment specific categories.
 Oversee the involvement of the PSCM Asia category specialists in the end to end sourcing process
 Work with and support global PSCM & business team to ensure goods are delivered on time, in full and at the specified quality level.
 Employs financial analysis and economic modeling skills to evaluate supplier proposal pricing and develop flexible contractual pricing models
 Participates as member of team to conduct sourcing process for responsible categories
 Identifies, implements and realizes value through effective ''strategic cost management'' utilizing best in class methods and tools
 Undertakes due diligence in mitigating external supply risk from supplier selection through to contract execution
 Contribute and provide insights to ensure the most appropriate and advantageous contract terms
 Lead Supplier Performance Management reviews for Mechanical & Fabricated Equipments categories in Asia, including metrics, measurement and corrective actions
 Captures, shares and applies lessons learned and best practices
 Supports site technical teams in the development of clear specifications
 Measure influenced spend and value delivery
 Provide information and counsel on to peers and leadership as to market trends, cost drivers and cost control strategies, risk mitigation strategies
 Responsible to deliver value targets contained in annual MY Plan
 Supports and enable a high performing team, coaching less experienced team member
 Responsible for development, performance management and career guidance of all direct reports.
Requirements:
 Bachelors degree or equivalent in Supply Chain Management, business or technical degree
 Fluent in both Mandarin and English, CET 6 or equivalent
 Strong professional negotiating skills
 above 5 years of professional procurement/sourcing and supply chain management experience, preferably within an MNC or an international joint-venture based in China
 Preferred 2-5 years existing experience in category management with international scope
 Preferred heavy industry, Oil and Gas on-site experience
 Past experience in working with and interacting with international colleagues is required
 Deep understanding of the supply markets relevant to the specified spend sector categories either secured through working in a key company operating within that marketplace or through relevant procurement category expertise
Preferred 2-5 years existing experience in category management with international scope
 Preferred heavy industry, Oil and Gas on-site experience
