General Description:

Working on our client's site, the Security Advisor will provide operational support and advice to the Regional Security Manager, Greater China in the strategic and tactical application of physical security for personnel and assets.

Main Responsibilities:


Business
·Provide operational support in evaluating, developing and executing regional site security strategies
·Oversee and support all security related agents, contractors & vendors, ensuring they meet or exceed project contracts or deadlines
·Check site security plans, security assessments, site specific risk/threat analysis and training awareness programs with the assistance of enforcement agencies
·Liaise with government, consular and private sector agencies within the region to protect & enhance the Global Security Program
·Provide operational support and advice to the GRSM GCR in the implementation of strategies & contingency plans, conduct risk assessments and maintain an effective network across the business group
·Provide support where required in the security vetting of individuals, teams and vendors
·Support cross-business group processes, programs and projects as indicated by the GRSM GCR
·Support and preserve the business infrastructure at local and regional level within GCR and make recommendations to support strategic aims

Planning
·Define agent/vendor tasks, confirm skills levels and development needs are addressed through training, development or coaching
·Promote organizational values and culture
·Adhere and promote a positive attitude within team work, encouraging a 'can do' attitude with all employees, vendors & outside agencies enabling the Corporation to achieve its business objectives
·Conduct risk/threat assessments/reviews within GCR as delegated by the GRSM GCR, at all levels, ensuring resource management, project management & problem solving issues are addressed internally & externally

Implement/Sustain
·Support development for external service optimization, ensuring fair & transparent processes
·Provide operational support in maintaining a network of communication, demonstrating a level of expertise within Global Security, gaining acknowledgement from Law Enforcement Agencies, ensuring they respond to requests for assistance
·Maintain and develop external networks with law enforcement agencies (local, state & national) to enhance response capability to incidents
·Develop contact networks with local fire authority to enhance service response
·Provide operational support and guidance to the GRSM GCR during incidents, and also support the RSM who will be the Global Security representative on the GCR Incident Management Team in the initial instance

Customer/Partner
·Ensure corporate policies are clearly communicated in the planning and preparation of any travel, events or exhibitions
·Support the Global Security Investigation Team with overt/covert surveillance requirements, fitting with both internal & external customer requirements
·Assess the need for resources required for Close Protection activity in support of the Executive Protection Unit
·Support established exercise programs to enhance the knowledge and practical abilities of all agencies with local legislation and procedures, ensuring compliance and enhance customer confidence
·Support training, development and coaching programs to ensure internal & external customers are aware of Microsoft Global Security commitment to customer care
·Liaise with stakeholders and business units, developing and enhancing working relationships, understanding the importance of collaboration to enhance objectives
·Resolve conflict and demonstrate consideration and empathy for others perspectives and interests


Requirements:

·Bachelor's degree in communications, business administration, international affairs, or marketing (or) an equivalent combination of work and education
·Event Security Management and/or Military Special Operations experience are also a plus, however, equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
·Experience managing decentralized international teams of up to 5 personnel
·Fluent in English and Mandarin (oral and written).
·Solid interpersonal and communications skills, including the ability to write clearly and accurately. Foreign travel and regional area knowledge, prior residency abroad, cross-cultural sensitivity, and foreign language proficiency are highly desirable.
