The key responsibilities of this position include:

• Ensure today’s product exceeds customer requirements
• Solve customers technical issues through customer engagement
• Enhance today’s product and services

Major Responsibilities

• Focus on China customers (but not limited to China customer and need to work globally)
• Track and manage HPD technical inquiries (spec change, sample management, technical service) to identify trends & opportunities

• Provide support for AEs/CEs for as customers qualify HPD glass substrates, and if/when they experience significant quality/performance issues
• Support sample management, as necessary
• Provide input to glass attribute targets, roadmap
• Lead attribute enhancement programs as defined in customer and Corning aligned roadmaps
• Optimize performance of Corning product in customer’s process
• Anticipate and deliver technical service through “design-in” package
• Propose and execute JEs or other actions to pursue opportunities that enhance Corning’s value in HPD products(e.g. etching optimization)
• Support EQ vendor engagement in China
• For existing display customers, integrate interactions with account teams to ensure that Corning is getting the full value of the advanced technology that Corning is delivering.

People Responsibilities and Skill Requirements

• This is a highly matrixed role
• The person in this role must exercise influence across the HPD, Corning Display Technologies (specifically Corning Display Technologies China), CGT and S&T organizations.
• The person in this role needs to manage PE activities in China, and potentially to lead small PE team in China if necessary.

Technical & Analytic Skills

• Ability to influence customer technology decisions, when appropriate, through compelling technical and business justifications
• Strong desire to manage business relationships using combination of data driven analysis, strategic thinking, networking and strong interpersonal skills

Education and Skill:

• Education: Masters in optics, electronics, or glass science desired. Strong technology background a must.
• Advanced English language skills
• Can effectively operate in both China and American business environments
• Experience in the display industry a strong positive advanatage
• Excellent communication skills, culturally sensitive and ensures messages are understood
• Strategic mindset, considers long term advantage and sustainable decisions
• Ability to interact effectively with customers, and other industry leaders and represent Corning on technical issues
• Ability to communicate complicated issues in a straight-forward and simple manner
• Ability to engage and interact effectively with internal groups to assure programs are in place so products meet customers’ evolving technical requirements
• Ability to network throughout TFT-LCD value chain
• Ability to set actions and follow through with a sense of urgency
• Ability to develop creative solutions
• Ability to manage small functional group.
