Position Description:
The Internet of Things (IoT) Offering Development Team (ODT) Leader is an exciting leadership position that will require an entrepreneurial spirit to develop new processes and products in support of a new and growing business. The ODTL is responsible for leading a cross function offering team to bring IoT related products to market. The ODTL needs to develop and execute lean processes to develop, license or brand IoT related product on schedule, at the committed project expense, with the cost and price required to meet the business objectives. The ODTL acts as the voice of the program and represents the project team in presenting project status and formal checkpoint exit results to executive management team. The ODTL responsibilities include:
• Understand customer, product, and solutions requirements for future product
• Create end-to-end project master schedule, resource plan and budget with cross-functional team input
• Commit product scope, cost, project expense, schedule, and financial impact to the business.
• Make decisions based on features, cost, expense, resources, schedule, and product quality.
• Be fully accountable for the project success to meet project schedule and expense and product cost and scope commitments.
• Lead global cross-functional core team to develop, qualify and launch the product on schedule, and within cost and expense commitments
• Create and execute risk mitigation plan.
• Follow development checkpoint process. Refine process for new business models.
• Efficiently manage and control project scope, risk, quality, and changes.
• Act as the primary interface between the various R&D, marketing, manufacturing teams, external vendors, and other function teams.
• Monitor and reports on various metrics that indicate the status of the development effort.
• Lead transition plans by considering transition roadmap, stock or/and healthy supply, technical ready and resource status
• Drive project and schedule optimization to respond to changing marketing conditions and other late product changes.
Position Requirements:
Position Minimum Requirements
• Bachelor Degree
• 5 years or more of project management experience
• Experience working in the PC industry
• Excellent written and spoken language skills in English
• Strong knowledge of current Project Management methodologies. Understand the relationship of their project or program to the portfolio.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Strong working knowledge of business matters, finance, planning, forecasting and personnel in order to manage team staff and business issues.
Position Preferred Requirements
• Bachelor Degree or higher in related Engineering field
• MBA preferred
• PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
• Experience working in embedded, industrial, or IoT PC hardware and solutions business
• Excellent written and spoken language skills in Chinese
• Experience working and communicating in global teams
Agile and lean startup program and portfolio management skills
