Electronic Engineering Technician
REPORTS TO: Director of Product Design Engineering
SCOPE AND BASIC FUNCTION:
This position is responsible for conducting research studies, developing technology, improving designs and evaluating new products. Duties will include: working with design engineers to construct and implement new circuit designs; conducting in-depth research; reviewing and analyzing technical literature; staying current on related issues and technical data; writing technical reports detailing procedures, outcomes, and observations; and establishing product specifications and manufacturing procedures. This position maintains and coordinates the Electro-mechanical laboratory including: updating lab documentation; maintenance of good laboratory practices; and product quality control. May also include the supervision and training of other laboratory technicians.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
? Actively seeking out innovative new products.
? Formulating or creating new products.
? Managing and running all aspects of laboratory.
? Evaluating new and existing technologies.
? Conducting and/or outsourcing moderately complex to complex research studies.
? Maintains full responsibility for results in terms of cost, methods, and procedures.
? Forming networks with researchers, suppliers, and inventor.
? Estimating costs and creating timelines for product development projects.
? Generating labels, Product Specifications and Manufacturing procedures.
? Building, modifying, and testing new and existing circuits
? Evaluating circuit designs for optimal efficiency and best practice
OTHER FUNCTIONS:
? Performs other duties as assigned
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/OTHER SKILLS:
? Associate’s degree preferred in Electronics Engineering Technology or related science with 10-15 years of experience.
? Intermediate to advanced soldering skills
? Familiarity and ability to use electronic test equipment i.e.: Oscilloscopes, function generators, spectrum analyzers
? Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
? Computer literacy required i.e.: MS systems, internet environment
? Strong written & verbal communication skills
? Positive attitude; ability to work positively with others.
