Job Responsibilities:
? To work with the wider Engineering and SCM team to select the appropriate suppliers for the specified components / materials.
? To identify and communicate where an existing preferred components & suppliers exists that can meet the required specification.
? Ensure that suppliers understand the specification and quality standards of the components / materials and that technical and compliance reports are available for all materials used in the manufacture of the company’s products
? To ensure that new component applications / specifications / drawings enable a multi-source strategy wherever possible to avoid single source constraints.
? Responsible for driving specific component / commodity consolidation activities and addressing any associated technical challenges.
? Manages life cycle component substitution (e.g., End of Life / Manufacturing discontinuance).
? To act as the main interface between Design Engineering, the Commodity Manager and ultimately the supplier/manufacturer.
? Drive the Supply Chain inputs to the Decision Point process in terms of BoM Risk Assessments, SCM Functional Reviews and associated Action Plans.
? To ensure that where necessary, appropriate Supplier and Component Qualification activities are implemented in a timely and effective manner and closed prior to product advancement to General Availability. Ensure the Lifecycle status of both Suppliers and Components is managed within both Agile PDM and ERP systems.
? Drive the initial qualification of new and existing manufacturers including data collection, capability assessment and on-site risk audits.
? Ensure all new materials are adequately defined by description, drawing or specification.
? Provide regional assistance on all aspects of SCM to other Oclaro locations.
? The ability to lead and develop DFx analysis with both design engineering and operations to ensure products are released with optimal manufacturing capability.

Job Requirements:
Required Skills:
? Seven (7) plus years of experience in Supply Chain, with a minimum of three (3) years of direct experience related to the specified commodity
? A minimum of five (5) years of experience in a SCM/SQE position; preferably in a direct role related to the specified commodity
? Experienced in building and maintaining good working relationships with NPI engineers, suppliers and contract manufacturers.
Qualifications:
? Degreed in Optical, Mechanical or Electrical engineering or Materials Science.
? Experience with specified commodity as used in a telecom or network environment.
? A trained lead assessor, qualified to ISO9000:2008, also TL9000, SA8000 & ISO14001 knowledge would be an advantage.
