Mohawk Group is a brand incubator, using the power of artificial intelligence to bring the best consumer products to market on e-commerce platforms. As a member of an extremely creative, talented and motivated team, you will be working very closely with our production teams in New York and Shenzhen to develop unbeatable new products for overseas markets.

What you will do:

Working with brand, purchasing, quality and testing teams to create engineering specifications from scratch and ensure adherence to them throughout the entire product lifecycle. You will own the products down to the smallest details, taking care of simple common-sense attributes as well as advanced material, function and performance specifications. Developing the engineering data and knowledge for a wide range of products, both off the shelf and original design, you will interact with different teams to provide a total 360-degree engineering service from basic customer needs to reliability, safety and quality.

Reporting to: Brand manager (New York) & VP of Operations (Shenzhen)

Responsibilities:

- Consumer product engineering in one or more of the following categories:
    Small domestic appliances
    White goods
    Household hardlines
    Kitchen tools, gadgets and storage
    Hair care appliances and tools
- Define and formulate new product specifications
- Convert and quantify customer needs and general product features into measurable attributes for use by marketing, QA, testing and logistics departments
- Evaluate, debug and solve product and manufacturing process issues
- Collaborate with suppliers for new product development, launch and delivery
- Continual product improvement and cost control

Required:

- Experienced in product quality and reliability management
- Technical background in design, engineering, manufacturing or related discipline
- Ability to understand how things work, and use that knowledge to identify root causes of failure
- Familiarity with factory processes and factory operations
- Hands-on and passionate about product quality and customer experience
- Familiar with NPI project management
- Proven ability to create efficient processes from the ground up
- Strong desire to innovate and insist on the best
- Strong organizational skills
- High level of written and spoken English
- 5+ years working in foreign-owned companies

Preferred:

- 8+ years in a listed or well-known MNC
- Experience working in a startup company
