职位描述：
SUMMARY OF POSITION: This position is primarily responsible for designing and developing electronic products. This includes acting as the Lead Engineer for assigned projects and providing complete engineering oversight of new product introduction.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
? Owns the electrical engineering of new product development in the China Engineering team and mainly focus on new concept product designing.
? Work with engineering manager to communicate with Category manager to understand customer’s requirements with Customer-Centered Designing thinking.
? Creates product design and product specifications for technical feasibility which includes costs, features and time to market and submits for approval.
? Designs schematics, creates BOM and is responsible for PCB layout to ensure successful prototype test.
? Responsible for Firmware/Software design for embedded systems of new concept products.
? Performs DFMEA design reviews and electrical peer design reviews for products under development, submits for approval, and follows-up on corrective actions needed.
? Works with Mechanical Engineer to finalize the housing enclosure needed for new tooling release.
? Works with supplier to set-up long lead part, pilot, and production orders.
? Sets-up pre-pilot run by creating a complete documentation package including component drawings, schematics, assembly procedures, test procedures, and test fixtures; both hands-on and using support staff.
? Coordinates with contract manufacturer to obtain manufacturing cost quote, feasibility to build, DFMA, and part approvals.
? Creates technical product manual for Communication Technologies to use in the development of the consumer instruction manual.
? Coordinates pre-pilot build with contract manufacturer and works with Marketing to set-up product focus groups.
? Obtains focus group feedback and makes necessary improvements to pilot for production.
? Releases product to production and continues to oversee manufacturing process to ensure product success.
? Receives consumer feedback, analyzes data for needed improvements, writes and submits ECO to implement necessary changes and coordinates with production to ensure enhancements are made.
? Work with Program Manager to confirm project schedule and report progress and predicted risk periodically.
? Evaluation the RSC products for potential improvements and apply Platform technology into electronics components standardization.
? Oversees evaluation of new components for current products as outlined in the Cost Reductions Program and provide guideline to Electrical Design Engineers.
? Work with CM’s to investigate potential improvements to electrical designs.
? Work with Return team and provide guideline to electrical engineer to analysis major return symptoms and provide resultful solution.
? Manages contracted engineering consultants as needed.
? Mentors Technicians and other Engineers to promote growth within the organization.
? Other duties as assigned.
? Understand the consumers’ needs and expectations for our products and services using methods such as listening to consumer calls in Customer Care.

SPECIFICATIONS:
? Bachelor Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering (BSEE) is required, Masters Degree preferred.
? Minimum of 10 years experience in the design and development of high volume, low cost electronic consumer products. This includes electronic hardware design, software design and circuit analysis experience and experience in taking products into production. This also includes experience in the design of hardware to operate in rugged mechanical environments and over industrial temperature extremes.
? Minimum 5 years experience with low power, low signal analog/audio design and circuit analysis including applications with analog sensors. Experience in the design of analog circuits including discrete component amplifier design is required.
? Minimum 5 years experience required in embedded system design using C programming languages. Experience with embedded designs using Microcontroller (MCU, DSP, ARM). Microchip and Texas Instruments low power microprocessors is desired.
? Excellent written and oral communication skills required.
? Speaks Fluent English and Mandarin.
? Ability to prepare and define specification requirements for production test requirements and assist in the development of test equipment within RSC or at the Contract manufacturer.
? Ability to and document design requirements and product specifications in English for incorporation into the RSC design documentation system.
? Proficient use of PADS and at least one MCU related IDE development systems or other schematic capture software, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Visio/smart draw.
? Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills required.
? Skilled in the use Digital Voltage Meters, Oscilloscopes, Signal Generators, Spectrum Analyzer, and Power Supplies.
? Ability to work independently and/or as a team member to accomplish assigned tasks.
? Ability to prioritize work in order to meet deadlines.
? Ability to manage multiple projects at one time including new design and sustaining projects.
? Must be able to sit for a majority of the workday with minimal walking, bending, and standing required.
? Manual dexterity required in operating small hand tools.
? Domestic and international travel is required up to 20%.

RELATIONSHIPS:
? Reports directly to the Engineering Manager of China Engineering Team.
? Reports indirectly to Product Development Manager of China Engineering Team.
