Main responsibilities:
(A) Demand Creation & Design-In:
(1) To influence decisions in design & material selection authorities;
(2) To secure opportunities in early design/alloy selection involvement;
(3) To reinforce value-selling through regular design exchanges;
(4) To enforce comprehensive & regular reporting of front-end activities.
(B) Application Engineering:
(1) To understand product, components, material & process needs;
(2) To champion product qualification activities in projects/programs.
(C) Technical Support:
(1) To manage response to all engineering enquiries from customers;
(2) To conduct trainings and provide technology updates to Wieland team.
(D) Market Intelligence:
(1) To seek front-end business information from customers;
(2) To understand customers' current focus & future action plans;
(3) To gather information on competition strength/weakness & activities;
(4) To conduct wide-audience & focused-account marketing activities.
(E) Market Survey & Trend Analysis:
(1) To study new devices, specifications & influencing market changes;
(2) To gather information on future roadmaps, market needs & trends;
(3) To translate product requirements into Wieland material demand.
Job qualifications:
(A) Demand Creation & Design-In:
(1) Target decision makers;
(2) Early design participation, design-in;
(3) Customer retention;
(4) Close loop tracking of projects/events.
(B) Application Engineering:
(1) Understand beyond written specs with fit-for-use & align application needs;
(2) Secure supply position, design-win.
(C) Technical Support:
(1) Timely customer response, customer satisfaction;
(2) Engineering knowledge flow, maintenance & upgrading.
(D) Market Intelligence:
(1) Keep pace with customer, market demand & deployment changes;
(2) Cross-check, verify information, ensure validity;
(3) Adjust, react &/or match expectations;
(4) Defend, attack, copy or co-exist.
(E) Market Survey & Trend Analysis:
(1) Understand new market requirements & product changes;
(2) Analyse total available/serviceable markets, pre-empt demand changes;
(3) Support capacity, material & resource planning.
Other requirements:
(1) Experience: Minimum 5 years of front-line (direct) management of customers with a good mix of responsibilities spanning from application engineering, technical services & marketing work. Knowledge of copper & copper alloys, metal business & manufacturing experiences with good customer network in the Mobilephone, Computing,Tele-communication and Automotive industry preferred.
(2) Qualification: University degree or equivalent, majoring in material science, metallurgy, mechanical engineering or equivalent engineering disciplines. Diploma in engineering with suitable industrial experience would be considered.
(3) Skills: Strong presentation skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
(4) Personality: Out-going with a passion to serve customers.
(5) Languages: Good writing, reading & speaking abilities in English.
