The Group:
The Products group is the home of manufacturing and innovation at Morningstar. The individuals in this group transform our high-quality data, independent research, and technological expertise into well-designed products that delight our clients. The group’s product management, product development, and service teams collaborate with our Client Solutions group to help provide clients with relevant products and bundled solutions.
The Role:
This role will be responsible for driving the QA automation excellence in Shenzhen office, including building up knowledge library related to testing and quality assurance, establishing structured training frameworks, developing competency for engineers in the QA organization, and gradually improve our automation efficiency. And this role will be also responsible for overseeing the automation work for key projects from start to end, during that you will be hands-on handling concrete tasks.
You will need to work closely with other QA managers, Development managers and Product managers to review our current automation process, and set different level of objectives regarding automation, and guide the teams to achieve them.
Also you will need to work together with automation leaders from other locations, to make sure good practices can be shared across globe. In addition, you will need to work with security team to assure a high-level security test is delivered.
Responsibilities
Work with development and functional QA teams to define our test strategy.
Build frameworks/solutions that support our long-term goal of delivering software within a continuous delivery pipeline.
Analyze user requirements and product architecture, and provide appropriate designs regarding automation.
Diagnose problems and report bugs and enhancements to development.
Ensure efficient and stable builds in continuous integration environment.
Drive continuous improvement of our automated testing practice.
Research tools for various test activities and apply them in practice.
Be actively involved in the test automation community and contributes back.
Provide mentorship/coaching to engineer members in the QA org.
Requirements
A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related.
Fluent in verbal English communication.
8+ years of working experience in a related field with competence in at least one programming language.
2+ years as a Team leader/manager.
Strong experience with test automation tools such as JMeter, Selenium, SoapUI/RestAssured.
Strong experience with test case management tools such as TestRail, QAComplete, TestLink.
Strong experience with OO programming and concepts.
Excellent understanding and knowledge of software quality assurance practice.
Agile experience (Scrum preferred).
A passion for automated testing, continuous improvement and mentoring.
Ability to direct the testing effort across multiple teams.
Ability to manage conflicting priorities.
