Re: Product Development
? Sourcing materials and components relative to needs of the brands appropriate aesthetics
? Working with factories on aesthetic and quality standards for Ralph Lauren Accessories. Maintain standards across vendors for consistent execution of brand appropriate aesthetics.
? Sample production follow up and quality control, including but not limited to market samples, salesmen samples, advertising, rigging, marketing, and special projects. Make sure sample delivery to be on time as PO requested.
? Work with the vendors on all aspects of sample fulfillment from material reservations through ex-factory of samples to final destination,
? Work on System PO process and related maintenance process, supporting as a super user for PLM system, providing assistance and training to the other team members as needed.
? Reporting of sample material liabilities to managers seasonally
? Review and Communicate product and necessary spec sheet changes to manager and NY development team for accurate product definition. Maintain records of all standards for development accuracy, library, and as a foundation for quality assurance.
? Manage and report toward timely approvals for all components relative to product to meet design and pre-production timelines. Advise NY development/production team of specific timelines for approvals that are unique to a particular component.
? Working with factories on reviewing product, construction and spec.
? Follow up related schedule and documentation of factory development of patterns and sample approval.
? Prepare full set of package for handing off to review with manager and then work with QA team for a smooth transfer for each new buy.
? Make sure Pre-PP samples will be approved and managed in a timely manner without affect delivery.
Re: Costing
? Review factory quotation before sending the cost to N.Y.
? Provide factory with a properly and blank PLM cost sheet based on direction from/and collaboration with NY PD.
? Ensure all factories have the full visibility to current component cost and return the cost sheet on time and correctly.
? Negotiate with factory on all the costing details based on CBD.
? Maintain and update all costing files whenever is needed.
? Collaborate closely with material at component & whole products level /PD team to improve cost/margin and saving options & achieve.
? Component MOQ/Surcharge rework /negotiation when projection received if component under minimums.
? Consumption cross checking for accuracy and saving optional.
? Counter sourcing and cost comparison study collaborate with NY PD for counter sourcing.
? Update PLM with properly level of cost details & line levels or FOB as specify milestone initial /productions.
? Work with factories & finalize with NYO production team upon projection received.
Re: Production
? Manage factory capacity in line with reservation and changing demand scenario including negotiation up or down as need;
? Work directly with factories to manage production preparation to be completed and support meeting delivery;
? Work on material delivery status.
? Manage the production and support solution to issues that impact delivery;
? Proactively communicate delivery concerns to NYO that result from material and /or commercialization issues;
? Work with factories for problem solve; material and product development problem to avoid impact on delivery;
? Work with factories to report current status of delivery issues that they are in line with all related issues;
? Coach new factories on procedure and setup of third parties service provider (like TLO/IST/GTN for EDI, Checkpoint for UPC ticket) and RL induction training from TDCR for material testing) and Global Transportation;
? Work with QA team for quality issues;
? Reporting support, like Exception report, Delivery Delay report, Tannery report, Production report, HOT list and HIT list report, Forecast report;
? Production material management – liaison material team to work with tannery for reporting and chasing production leather material delivery schedule;
? Physical testing – assist factory and material supplier to knowhow material comply with our physical testing requirement.
? Support NY on timely finalization of price and delivery fixing;
? Communicate delivery updates in a timely manner to factories, whether improvement availability or delivery delays;
? Coordinate with logistics and/or vendor compliance teams to resolve any issues related to PO shipments.
? Work on production cost according to actual production order units and propose best option to NY to avoid delivery and cost impact
? Regular factory visit is recommended
? Manage sample approval lead time against bulk delivery
Qualifications
? At least 5 years of accessories manufacturing experience
? Knowledgeable in product development, production processes and best practices
? Rich experience working with vendors and raw material suppliers in Asia
? Communication skills are the must
? System work and detail oriented
? Good command of spoken and written English
? Problem identifying and problem solving oriented
