Position

GoPro is seeking a top tier candidate to take on the responsibilities of Senior Component Quality Engineer role located in Shenzhen, China. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated competency in electro-mechanical commodities including but not limited to batteries, displays, chargers, motors, audio and overall leadership and management of supplier component engineering. The position will have responsibility to lead and manage multiple component / commodity suppliers by reviewing manufacturing quality plans, facilitating root cause analysis and corrective actions, driving component and process improvements through deployment of quality tools and practices such as DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, Capability analysis, CP/ CPK, Process characterization. The range and scope of responsibilities will include components and processes from initial concept through development stages into manufacturing. Limited engagement with suppliers to facilitate resolution of issues with injected molded, metal formed and die casted Mechanical parts may be required.

What You Will Do

? Evaluate prospective suppliers regarding production capability & quality management.
? Perform audit of component suppliers to ensure proper implementation of quality and process control plans and effective implementation of closed loop corrective actions.
? Assessment of supplier quality issues and challenges through systematic analysis and subsequent recommendations for continuous improvements.
? Establish and provide reporting of supplier quality performance and test results as needed
? Work with Engineering, Reliability, Supply Chain, Manufacturing Operations, Commodity, and other functions in the organization to ensure proper development and implementation of GoPro requirements, including reliability, process control, inspection and validations plans across the supply base, ensuring product and manufacturing quality through initial and continuous improvements of processes, yields, testing methods, etc.

Skills We’re Stoked About

? Bachelor of Science Degree in Materials Science; Mechanical or Electronics Engineering. Master’s degree is highly preferred.
? 7+ years of hands one experience with electro-mechanical commodities like batteries, optical systems, chargers, displays, microphones and motors.
? Comprehensive understanding of manufacturing process associated with these commodities
? Extensive knowledge of quality system management, Six Sigma tools and practices, 8D corrective action, FMEA, Control plans, Process Capability Analysis and Statistical Methods.
? Relevant experiences related to Lens / camera components, metal, plastic / molding, rubber, and processing technologies is a plus.
? CQE (Certified by ASQ) a plus
? Previous experience with ISO9001:2008 Quality Management requirements and ability to audit using such standards a plus.
? Fluent in English & Mandarin with excellent verbal and written communication in English
? Take great pride and ownership in work, dependable, timely and thorough
? Self-motivated, can work independently and under pressure
? Effective presentation/communication skills, project management skills
? Ability to lead and mentor others on process and methodologies
