Responsibilities:
· To lead all merchandising team members, QA team members and logistic team members in Shenzhen packaging trading company office; Develop and implement a strategic strategy for the China branch operation which ensures alignment with Canadian headquarter directives related to defining company goals, objectives and tactical operations in the field of manufacturing & distribution of packaging to North American clients. Position reporting directly to Canadian head office.
· Manage all merchandising activities to drive efficiency, effective communications, and connectivity with the Canadian head office overseas.
· Develop negotiating techniques to apply to factories – Research and anticipate shifts in factory negotiating powers through effective use of merchandiser team members.
· Drive discovery of new suppliers and products by merchandisers in order to push innovation and opportunities to head office.
· Implement all sourcing instructions from head office through appropriate delegation with regard to product, process, personnel and supplier selection in order to facilitate projects efficiently and effectively.
· Coordinate all Quality Assurance activities with factories by effective management of quality assurance team & processes.
· Manage the budgets for the china operation working together with the SZ finance manager reporting back to Canadian headquarters.
· Develop and maintain a cost savings program that will benefit the company with regard to product, process, personnel, systems.
· Manage all personnel for character, skill development , salary plans and employee review
· Promote positive company culture.
Requirements:
· Business Degree
· 10 years minimum in merchandising, general management of buying office or trading company
· Specific experience managing subsidiary office of a western based head office.
· Fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin
· Knowledgeable in Import/Export activities
· Keen problem solver
· Packaging industry experience preferred, but not required.
· Excellent leadership, time management and interpersonal skills.
