Title: Market Manager Waxes - Segment Plastics, Asia
Location：Shanghai
Coverage: China
Report to: Global Segment Manager Plastics
Purpose of Job:
Continuously identify customer needs and market trends both up- and downstream in the Plastics value chain in Asia with emphasis on China. Translate gathered insights into localized solution, product, service and application developments. Create customer leads and support Sales teams in successful conversion to expand our market position and achieve financial growth. Ideally: Capable to provide technical support to customers & Sales teams.
Responsibility:
Marketing and Business Development
1. Identify customer needs & market trends up- and downstream in the Plastics value chain in Asia.
2. Gather intelligence on competitors and their products.
3. Develop customer leads pipeline & convert into business with support of Sales team.
4. Support pricing initiatives in collaboration with Global Segment Head Plastics.
Promotion of Products and Services
1. Lead and develop promotion activities for our Plastics segment in the region.
2. Respresent & promote our Plastics segment at trade fairs, industry conferences and other customer events.
3. Prepare technical & commercial promotion material.
Development of New Products and Applications
1. Translate market insights into localized solution, product, service and application developments.
2. Support and co-lead product development projects in collaboration with Global Product Management.
3. Lead and support relevant product launches within the region.
Technical Marketing
1. Support Global Technical Marketing in regional customer requests on our products & their applications.
2. Support regional Sales teams on technical questions.
Requirements:
1. Plastics engineer or Chemical engineer with MBA / Marketing degree
2. a) Plastics industry (ideally MB, Compounding or Molding) in marketing / business development role
3. Customer relationship management & networking
4. Project management skills
5. Experience in marketing and technical application or product development
6. Good skills of English and communication
