The Company
The/Studio is a B2B on-demand manufacturing platform for the 21st Century. We are completely bootstrapped, already on a $13M run rate, and just closed a round of funding.
Our CEO & Founder, Joseph Heller has over 10 years experience in the fashion manufacturing supply chain space. He realized that even for the largest brands in the world, manufacturing was an extremely difficult process. For smaller brands, entrepreneurs, and individuals it is almost impossible to custom manufacture products.
Our mission is to enable the freedom of creation for everyone.
We use software, data and a tightly controlled network of factories to be the world’s most valuable and reactive manufacturing supply chain organization in the world.
The Role
The Vice President of Operations will be responsible for all departments in our China office including New Product Development, Design, Logistics, and Global Production. Furthermore, the Vice President of Operations will work closely with our technology team as well as report directly into the COO to ensure that our other global offices are receiving necessary support. This role will be KPI’d on factory onboarding, on-time delivery, and product quality.
The right candidate will have experience working in manufacturing or process heavy businesses such as logistics, call centers, etc… The Vice President of Operations must be fluent in English and fluency in Mandarin Chinese is preferred.
Responsibilities
? Create processes to ensure high quality factories are on-boarded to our platform.
? Constantly ensure that best factories are on our platform and that we are constantly looking for new factories to join our platform.
? Negotiate long-term pricing contracts with factories.
? Manage network of factories to ensure on-time delivery, and quality requirements.
? Maintain detailed training guides for each product category that The/Studio manufactures which makes it clear across the organization our production capabilities and requirements.
? Work with quality control team and factory to ensure best in class quality.
? Set and maintain detailed standard operating procedures throughout the China office that dictates everything from how factories are on-boarded, to how factories are KPI’d, to how samples are stored, etc....
? Work with technology team to build new product features to support China office, and global factories.
? Work across other global offices to ensure inputs from these offices are consistent with what is necessary to ensure stable production within the China office, as well as ensuring that information disseminating from China meets the requirements of our global offices.
? Work with shipping team to ensure that products are properly packaged and most efficient and cost effective shipping methods are used.
? Ensure that factories are constantly improving their turnaround time and quality standards.
? Negotiating best prices with factory suppliers.
Requirements
? Minimum of 5 years experience in operations management, but 10+ years preffered.
? Fluent in English. Mandarin preferred but not required.
? Experience in manufacturing preferred or process heavy businesses.
? Experience working with software companies preferred.
? Proven track record of driving results.
