POSITION PURPOSE

The Specialist works with Assortment Planners in the US to provide analytical support on assortment decisions made by the Merchandising Organization. The Merchandising Organization is responsible for establishing and managing the assortments for approximately $70B of sales. The Analyst partners with Assortment Planners and Merchandising Organization primarily during Business Reviews and Product Line Reviews and is responsible for (a) influencing the goals and objectives of category review, (b) conducting standard and ad hoc analyses to identify key drivers of performance, (c)recommending assortment decisions that will improve category performance, and (d) tracking performance on top categories while also enabling post-mortem analysis on Business Reviews, PLRs, and other strategic initiatives. For the PLRs organized in China, the Analyst/ Sr. Analyst is also expected to partner directly with the merchandising and sourcing teams to influence product selection and buy decisions.

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES, AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

1)Work with Assortment Planners in the US and drive analytical support during the review milestones of Business Review / PLRs. Typical analyses include:
? Marketplace and macroeconomic trends impacting the category
? Price point offerings and profitability
? Vendor / Brand offerings and profitability
? Key product attribute offerings and profitability
? Regional performance of category
? Inventory management by store volumes
2)Track performance of merchandising decisions including review post-mortem tracking, category reporting, SKU ranking, and sub-class stats
3)Conduct cost comparison and quantify impact of merchandising decisions during the Product Line Review or Open To Buy event
4)Provide vendor or SKU financial performance to Asia Sourcing Office
5)Ad-hoc analyses

The person in this role should be able to integrate new sources of data and place them into context of the review objectives. He/she will be accountable for accuracy, thoroughness, thought process, ability to manage timeliness, and viability of recommendations

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor Degree in Business or comparable field

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

1)English proficiency, Mandarin fluency
2)Flexibility of working time
3)Strong analytical skills
4)Ability to communicate well verbally and write compelling presentations and result summaries
5)Self motivated and intellectually curious
6)Proficient with PowerPoint and Excel
7)Experience with retail method of accounting is a plus
