The primary role and responsibility of the Associate Director, HR – China is to act as the Key Advisor for the Northern China and China for all HR-related issues, taking overall responsibility for the day-to-day HR matters, providing professional support, advice and solutions on all HR related matters.
The key roles and responsibilities of the Associate Director, HR –China are:
? Act as a business partner to GWS EFM leaders North China and China in developing, planning and setting HR strategies, initiatives, policies, and procedures and ensure effective and timely implementation;
? Oversee the daily HR operations of Northern China and China
? Provide operational and strategic HR services to the GWS EFM business in line with the HR Strategic plan to optimize the use of the Company’s human resources and maximize profitability;
? Work cooperatively with managers of other HR functions including Recruitment, Compensation& Benefits, Learning & Development, Payroll, Project etc to ensure an integrated approach is taken in supporting the Company’s strategic goals;
? Oversee HR operations and activities, preparation of employment contract and amendments, employee visa applications, basic training, HR systems, and payroll ensuring compliance with local legislation and market practice;
? Keep up-do-date on labor-related legislations and government policies, and ensure full compliance thereof across China;
? Lead, coach and manage the China HR BP team.
Required Knowledge & Skills
? Working experience in outsourcing business of FMCG fast paced industry is preferred
? Fluent spoken and written English and Chinese;
? Client-oriented with a high degree of integrity, discretion and customer focus, demonstrating an ability to provide quality advice on HR issues, make sound decisions and provide recommendations; maintain and encourage discretion and confidentiality;
? Highly organized with strong administration and logistical skills, attention to detail and flexibility to adapt to changing priorities;
? Demonstrated ability to think strategically with a high level of conceptual, innovative, analytical and problem solving skills;
? Ability to communicate and influence at all levels within the organization with strong presentation skills, and the ability to prepare high standard written reports;
? Ability to work as part of HR team with the capacity to work cooperatively and in partnership with peers;
? Proficient in planning and executing HR strategies at all job grades, in a timely and cost effective manner;
? Strong detailed knowledge of employment legislation (particularly related to fair and ethical treatment of all employees), local and regional policies and regulatory requirements;
? Advanced level in Microsoft packages including Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook;
? Flexibility with working hours and travel arrangements.
Experience & Qualifications
? University degree or above in Human Resources or related discipline;
? A minimum of 9 years’ experience in effective HR functions and management, including those related to attraction and retention, career planning, developing organizational culture, and exit strategies;
? Experience in providing expert advice to senior management;
