Job Description:
As a HID firmware engineer working on many of Razer gaming peripheral devices ( keyboards, mice, game controller etc ), you will be expected to bring up and debug proof of concept prototypes quickly.
1. Architect, implement, and maintain complex firmware and algorithm designs.
2. Write clean, easy to understand, robust, and sustainable code tailored for embedded systems.
3. Negotiate, specify and document communication protocols, system states, and FW/SW feature requirements with the SW team.
4. Help select microcontrollers, define power management strategies, and review schematics with the HW team.
5. Interface with the QA teams to inform and shape their white-box testing.
Key Qualification:
1. Assembly, C or C++ for embedded systems.
2. Experience interfacing microcontrollers with analog and digital sensors.
3. Working knowledge of one or more communication protocols (e.g. USB, Bluetooth, Wireless, UART, SPI, I2C).
4. Experience implementing firmware in bare-metal or RTOS environments.
5. Demonstrated capability in applying software best-practices to firmware designs.
6. Solid board bring-up and debug skills.
7. Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Education:
BS CS/CE/EECS.
Additional Requirement:
1. Experience with one or more microcontroller cores (ARM, AVR, MSP430, PIC, M8C, 8051).
2. Debugging skills with JTAG, Oscilloscopes, USB analyzer, Logic analyzers.
3. Development experience on Unix, Linux, Familiarity with mass storage, video camera, displays, or input technologies is a plus.
4. Wireless, Bluetooth, Cocoa, Objective-C.
