Position Description:


The application engineer are the primary technical resource for the EDA tool sales, are responsible for actively driving and managing the technology evaluation stage of the sales process. Working with the sales team as the key technical advisor and product advocate, the application engineer must be able to identify and provide reliable solutions for all technical issues to assure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the sales process. The application engineer need be able to establish and maintain strong relationships throughout the sales cycle.


Responsibilities:


Maintain expert level of IC design flow, EM simulation and PDK knowledge.
Articulate technology and product position to both business and technical users.
Provide support to customers and distributors.
Listen, understand and convey customer requirements.
Respond to functional and technical elements of RFIC design, EM simulation .etc.
Provide technical/product training for sales people and engineers at targeted accounts.
Assist in the design and development of products and tools.
Maintain accurate records of target accounts opportunities, projects and contacts.
Resolve customer issues or difficulties.
Prepare technical documents for targeted accounts.
Travel to customer to provide presentation and EDA tool demo.
Maintain professional business relationships within target accounts.


Requirements:


Bachelor or higher degree in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics or similar.
A solid understanding of IC design especially knowledge of passive components such as inductors, capacitors and transformers.
A solid understanding of foundry process design kits like TSMC, SMIC.
Experience with the Linux command line and Cadence Virtuoso environment.
Experience in using EM tools like HFSS, ADS.
Ability to travel to customer sites or trade shows to do demos and technical presentations.
Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
Customer service or sales support experience.
Fluent English in speaking, reading and writing.


Additional:


Experience developing software, preferably in the EDA domain.
Knowledge of EM theory and solver technology.
Programming experience in Cadence’s SKILL.
Experience with using Cadence tools for layout and simulation of IC designs.
Knowledge of active or passive device modeling
