Essential Functions of the Job:
? Cost Saving / Value Engineering – Identifying, scoping and delivering projects to enable packaging for the product delivers Every Day Low Cost. Working with Packaging Manager and vendors to deliver cash savings packaging solutions against agreed personal and team cash saving target.
? Policies and legislation – ensure all ASDA policies and packaging legislation is adhered to and communicated out to your stakeholders and category vendors when appropriate.
? Reporting – provide weekly updates, indicating cost savings, innovation, range development, issues, next steps, case studies and adhoc reports as required.
? Records – ensure all communication, including packaging policies, processes and specifications are accurately recorded and stored centrally.
? Ad hoc – carry out all tasks requested, including supporting and educating the Packaging Team, stakeholders and our vendors

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Other Requirements:
Person specification
? Fluent English, Mandarin and / or Cantonese communicator.
? Excellent communicator, at all levels, who is organised and calm under pressure
? Friendly, approachable and flexible
? Ability to inspire and influence at all levels
? Excellent attention to detail and pride in document quality and accuracy.
? Ability to interpret and communicate packaging developments to stakeholder and a global vendor base.
? Good at thinking outside the box and creative in their approach to packaging solutions and ways of working.
? A team player with an outgoing personality
? Comfortable working in both isolation using own initiative and as part of a team
? Ability to develop and deliver through a strong network
? Ability to work to tight deadlines within a retail environment.
? Able to present information and arguments in a rational, structured, logical & concise manner.
? Travel required
Qualifications/Experience Required Essential
? Minimum of 2 years previous packaging development experience, preferably with a non food / general merchandise packaging background
? Good knowledge of packaging technology material and processes.
? Excellent in a client facing role
? Computer literate

? Relevant packaging qualification
? Experience of working with FE vendor base
