The Electrical Cables & Components Group is looking for an experienced Engineer to join our Asia Pacific business organization as an Applications Engineer as we grow our business in the region. Our global team develops, manufactures, and sells clean planar cable products for the Semiconductor and Display Equipment industry.
 
This position will predominantly support sales associates in China, Japan, Taiwan and partner with internal associates in local and other regions to solve problems and develop products for customers. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills, and have the ability to assess customer needs in both a technical and sales perspective. In addition, this individual will need to understand how to support new products and develop sales opportunities in the Semiconductor and Display Equipment industry while also supporting existing customers and business in this market space.
 
The responsibilities of this position will include:
? Assess customer needs and design (customize) Gore product solutions based on our existing component offerings, including creating of product specification
? Address customer technical issues with the product
? Drive the resolution of quality issues
? Develop in-depth market and application understanding in Semiconductor and Display manufacturing equipment
? Support sales through expert understanding and application of current Gore product concepts
? Educate the sales team and customers on product performance characteristics, applications, and installation processes
? Uncover unmet needs to support new and existing products – provide fitness-for-use input to NPD process
? Provide technical support of existing applications at customers
? Coordinate cross functional efforts to effectively satisfy customer needs
? This position will be located in Shenzhen, China

Qualifications
? 5 years experience - technical or market oriented role
? B.S. Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical or Preferred)
? Thorough understanding of problem-solving and quality improvement tools and techniques
? Demonstrated experience forming and leading problem solving teams
? Experience in working with sizable electronics companies
? Demonstrated responsiveness to customer inquiries and relations
? Proven ability to prioritize and drive multiple technical projects and/or customer support activities
? Strong customer relation and interpersonal skills
? Strong English and mandarin communication skills, both written and verbal
? Technical skills to support lab based fitness for use testing
? Demonstrated self-motivation & ability to work at a fast pace
? Demonstrated success in making sound judgments with limited data
? Ability to travel (up to 25% overnight travel and sometimes on short notice) - mostly locally in China and regionally in Asia with some global travel

Desired:
? Experience in the Semiconductor and/or Display industry
? Electrical (power and signal transmission) knowledge
? Basic mechanical knowledge (drawings and mechanical parts)
? General knowledge of manufacturing
? Additional business education (continuing education/business degree)
? Experience supporting sales of high value, premium, and/or technically differentiated products ("value selling")
? Experience in working with global teams in a Multinational Corporation (MNC)
? Demonstrated success working with and gathering information in complex, large scale organizations
? Ability to understand and create product design drawings for customers and manufacturing 举报 分享
