Alibaba Marketing Consultant/Specialist
The Company
The/Studio is a B2B on-demand manufacturing platform for the 21st-century: completely bootstrapped, already on a $11M run rate and in the process of closing out A round of funding.
We use software, data and a tightly controlled network of factories to be the world’s most valuable and reactive manufacturing supply chain organization.
After a start in the apparel manufacturing vertical, we now have clients like Nike, Uber, Tesla, Timberland and American Apparel. We’re fortunate to be working in a space that is culturally relevant — and one where we can disrupt the multi-trillion dollar manufacturing space. The/Studio sits at the intersection of technology, fashion and culture.
Our Technology
The CEO of The/Studio has 10 years of experience working with fashion brands and retailers on supply chain and manufacturing. In the beginning he immediately noticed that billions of dollars of transactions were being processed via phone calls and emails — a 20th century system at best. Being a serial entrepreneur, Joseph found a team of programmers to develop an innovative end-to-end manufacturing platform that allows customers to get quotes direct from factories, process, manage orders, and our platform allows for complete transparency because factories are using the same software.
The Role
We're seeking an experienced U.S. or International representative of a Chinese factory, or seasoned factory-side Alibaba user, who can help us optimize our Alibaba presence. You'll be expected to answer, advise and guide us on questions like:
? Is it worth maintaining a Chinese address on our profile in lieu of our U.S. office, so our listings can become "sponsored"?
? How can we improve our existing product names beyond imitating those of high-ranking competitors?
? Are the higher tiers of membership worth the investment?
? Should we apply for "product showcase"?
? Is it worth employing a U.S. sales representative to improve our response rate?
? What paid marketing opportunities are available to us on Alibaba besides paying for extra inquiries and being featured on product showcase?
? What can be improved about our Alibaba profile page?
Responsibilities
? Advise marketing department on how to best utilize the Alibaba platform and attract, engage, convert and retain customers acquired there.
Requirements
? Minimum of two years' experience effectively managing Alibaba as a customer acquisition channel
? Proven track record enhancing and optimizing Alibaba presences for large-scale factories (>$1mm annual sales)
