Design and Engineering
? Compiling and analyzing business requirements for related Telecommunication projects.
? Designing, staging, configuring, implementing and supporting LAN, routing and/or switching hardware installations that may include VLAN (Virtual LAN), NAT/PAT (Network/Port Address Translation), IPSec (Internet Protocol Security), VPN (Virtual Private Network), TCP/IP (Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol), IP QoS (Internet Protocol Quality of Service) and ACL (Access Control List), 802.1X.
? Validating wireless and networking features across multiple platforms and access technologies.
? Demonstrating specialised knowledge in and working knowledge of network technologies including Spanning Tree, BGP (Border Gateway Protocol), MPLS (Multiprotocol Label Switching), EIGRP (Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol), and emerging technologies.
Deployment and Operation
? supporting and executing Network Upgrade, Change and Migration activities.
? Creating/Maintaining RRD network & voice documentation.
? Providing support for operational issues and/or problems.
? Providing support by troubleshooting and quickly resolving complex network & voice problems across a broad range of technologies. Acting as a focal point for complex network & voice problem resolution.
? Responsible to site business owners and working with 3rd party suppliers, global and local teams, in line with agreed processes, for all assigned critical and non-critical Telecommunications and Network infrastructure.
? Installation of network and other equipment (racking, stacking, patching) and handing it over to other teams for management (test & turn over).
? Ensure communication to relevant teams takes place and business users are aware of scheduled downtime if applicable.
