Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the design and development of GoPro’s camera with innovative mechanical design solutions. The engineer will contribute to the feasibility studies and coordinate validation testing on new and modified designs. Work closely with internal and external partners to generate all necessary documentation and test plans to ensure product(s) meet specification. The engineer will ensure product features achieve cost, schedule, reliability, thermal and regulatory/safety goals. Candidate should have thorough ability to use NX (Unigraphics), Creo CAD, Solidworks and analysis tools to create mechanical designs, primarily consisting of injection-molded plastic, stamped sheet-metal and die-cast component assemblies for high-volume mass production.


What You Will Do
? Management design and development of new products, the ideal candidate will have both a strong product and technical background and be experienced working with vendors and partners in a China region.
? Develop mechanical product designs and layouts for new generation products that reflect the product concept’s form and functional requirements including thermal design. 
? Contribute to the overall design, analysis, documentation and functional validation of mechanical components and assemblies.
? Participate in mechanical engineering evaluation and test to validate the robustness and proper performance of new products.
? Collaborate with internal and external teams (i.e. Suppliers, partners, manufacturing, operations, quality, tooling, etc.) to ensure the successful development and launch of new products.
? Contribute to the development of mechanical tooling and production part qualification (i.e. first-article inspections, manufacturing process capabilities (Cp/Cpk), measurement gage repeatability and reproducibility (GR&R), material certifications, etc.).
? Utilize best-in-class tools to develop innovative mechanical solutions to highly complex problems
? Assist direct support personnel in all mechanical related activities throughout the product development cycle.
? Assist in the audit and provide input on mechanical suppliers and external partners.
 
Skills We’re Stoked About
? B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering
? 12+ years of relevant experience in mechanical and/or product design development
? Experience in architecture development of consumer electronics products; preferably in hand held, mobile and wireless devices
? Thorough knowledge and experience in using NX (Unigraphics) or/and Creo or/and Solidworks solid modeling and assembly creation
? Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing and performing statistical tolerance analysis
? Experience with Asia ODM partners and manufacturing suppliers
? Team player; ability to work in cross‐functional teams
? Strong interpersonal and communication skills
? Results and deadline driven
? Works with minimal supervision on complex efforts on the mechanical development of components and subsystems of devices
? Ability to travel (domestic and internationally) 
? Proficient language skills in English and Mandarin
