Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage any and all aspects of OEM and Contract Manufacturer programs, working intimately with US Outside Sales and Shenzhen Customer Service, including quotations, technical development, NPI(New Product Introduction), production ramp, global sourcing of materials, sustaining production, and product End of Life.
2. Have direct customer interface requiring presentations, solicitation for new business, and on-going communications. Establish relationships with key customer management staff and decision makers to increase new business to meet sales targets. Display or demonstrate products, using samples or catalog, and emphasize technical capabilities and materials applications.
3. Transfer programs between North America and Asia.
4. Implement global sourcing programs for customers through communication with global sourcing team based on low-cost labor areas, generally in the Asia Pacific region, including production of final products in Asia and distribution globally, as well as shipment of raw materials from Asia to the U.S. for final product manufacturing. Facilitate sourcing of materials by working with Asian suppliers and Boyd’s Global Procurement Organization on materials specifications, properties and performance to establish a materials database, AVL, supply chain and inventory management through communication with global sourcing team.
5. Frequent local travel in South China area including Dongguan, Guangzhou, Huizhou, etc. Will require infrequent travel to Shanghai.
6. Monitor and track progress of projects in order to meet customer's requested schedule. Oversight includes material availability, engineering and production readiness, and quality assurance tests.
7. Respond to RFQs or quotations using cost analysis of materials, process optimization for production, logistics costs, setting of process parameters, and balancing resource and budget to meet or exceed gross margins objectives.
8. Facilitate the execution of value engineering with Customer Engineers to define process improvements and materials selections to meet specific performance requirements for product applications.
9. Ensure smooth transition of new programs from design build, FAQ (First Article Qualification), APQP, PPAP, design change management, pre-production and mass production and vendor management programs.
10. Generate monthly sales performance and weekly programs progress reports.
11. Host customer visit to Shenzhen plant.
Requirement:
1. Minimum four years sales, marketing or program management experience in electronics industry;
2. Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Materials Science preferred but actual experience in die-cutting parts or application of gasket, electrical insulation, or thermally conductive materials in the computer and electronics will be considered;
3. Work with USA Boyd sales team on OEM/ODM projects sales leads and able to follow through the whole sales cycle in South China from sales presentation, material selection, quotation, value engineering, FAQ (First Article Qualification), APQP, PPAP, ECN to VMI programs;
4. Must be able to communicate fluently in English and Mandarin;
5. Proficient use of MS office and ability to learn CAD programs and MRP as required.
