Duties and Responsibilities
The job requires the product engineer to have a very good working knowledge of: -
1.Statistical methods and qc tools
2.Manufacturing process (Plastics Injection Molding & Metal CNC/Stamping)
3.Product reliability and qualification
4.Physical analysis methods
5.Strong product Knowledge
6.Strong analytic work methodology and problem solving skills
7.Collaborate with customers’ quality and engineering personnel to determine critical part features and review manufacturability of design.  Make recommendations to modify customer part specifications and tolerances as necessary to support cost effective production.
8.Provide engineering support to operations ensuring consistent application of quality technique
a.Resolve quality issues of capability, tolerance, and materials related issues.
b.Resolve quality issues by identifying problems, examining solution options, implementing action plans, and providing resources.
c.Effectively communicate and reinforce commitment to quality improvement efforts
9.Develop and submit AQP/PPAP documents for new product launches to meet customer requirements.
10.Determine when process stability and capability studies should be performed on existing processes.  Review and analyze results.  Recommend changes to processes based upon findings and perform follow up to verify effectiveness.
11.Participate in the Advanced Product Quality Planning activities to determine appropriate use of existing and new measurement systems during new tool or process design and startup. 
12.Participate in the development of Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
13.Facilitate and promote use of appropriate problem solving techniques for effective root cause analysis and successful corrective action.
14.Perform duties in accordance with quality system requirements as the voice of customers.
15.Coordinate with BU, Purchasing, Engineering, Production, and Toolroom to resolve customer complaints and concerns.
16.Lead PPM improvement plan for strategic customers.
17.Apply appropriate use of statistical techniques.
18.Determine and apply appropriate Measurement System Analysis tools.


QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum Technical Qualifications:   
19.Bachelor degree in Engineering, prefer Manufacturing or Mechanical
20.Five to seven years experience managing a certified quality management system (e.g. ISO9001).
21.Exceptional mechanical aptitude (i.e. intuitive understanding of technical processes)
22.Proven track record of driving continuous quality improvement in a manufacturing environment.
23.Previous work experience in an organization that supplied large OEM’s.
24.Customer quality assurance experience.
25.Previous audit experience.
26.Technical knowledge of stamping processes
27.Project management experience.
