DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Job Description

Mechanical Commodity Manager that is the primary contact for
negotiation and supplier management with the Flex supply base, driving
the strategic sourcing process on a global basis.

* Global supplier selection and negotiation in order to meet/exceed
segment CR financial metrics by working with business segment, site,
and supply chain leadership.

* Negotiate global spend for Assemblies on a quarterly basis to exceed
customer contractual CR expectations and maximize PPV.

* Prepare Business Cases, including ROI models, and effectively present
Cost Savings proposals to management, SSCMs and customers as requested.

* Continually identify and implement new opportunities for Cost Savings
and Cost Avoidance and proactively track the progress toward these
objectives.

* Develop global commodity strategies with defined plans for cost
savings, risk assessment and mitigation, and service level agreements.

* Negotiate business T & C's relating to: payment terms, delivery
terms, inventory strategies, lead times, price reduction and other
strategic issues with key suppliers.

* Establish and manage long term supplier relationships and will engage
with dedicated and non-dedicated sites alike for relationship
management as needed.

* Implement programs for supplier selection, supplier performance
management and supply base optimization.

* Manage supplier selection process and ensure supplier selections are
based on sound selection criteria based on feedback from the
manufacturing sites, the SSCM organization, and the customer.

* Lead in the development and execution of negotiation strategies with
suppliers, including specific targets for pricing, service, quality,
and inventory.

* Define and review the Preferred Supplier List taking into account
supplier performance, print position and easy of doing business in
order to establishing sourcing strategies and consolidate the supply
base.

* Negotiate, implement, and provide ongoing management of supply
agreements, working with Legal to establish and execute optimal
contract terms and conditions with suppliers.

* Provide rigorous analysis of spend data and market trends and
dynamics to prioritize and launch sourcing initiatives within
designated spend/commodity categories.

* Address all areas of commodity management including commodity
business plans, global market and pricing analysis and procurement
support.

* Contribute to development of the company's strategic commodity
objectives and goals.

* Advise management on alternate global supply sources, raw material
costs, commodity pricing trends and supply/demand situations that could
impact the business.

* Monitor current commodity market conditions, technology roadmaps and
identify supply/demand challenges.

* Develop, implement and communicate tactical and strategic commodity
plans internally and to Flex customers as appropriate
