Senior Tooling Process Quality Engineer

The ideal candidate for this role will have demonstrated skills and work experiences in managing production tooling (molds, die cast, precision casting, and stamping). The position will have responsibility to lead and manage specific suppliers’ components and associated processes for Mechanical / Plastics components with focus on supplier process development and control, Implementation of product quality plans, facilitation of root cause analysis and corrective actions, driving component and process improvements through deployment of quality tools.


What You Will Do

? Advise on manufacturability (DFM - Design for Manufacturability)
? Review tooling specifications
? Participate in joint PFMEA reviews and develop Process Control Plans leading to effective process and manufacturing controls
? Conduct Problem resolution and troubleshooting
? Continually assisting with process and tooling performance and compliance to process parameters and controls established
? Coordinate qualification testing and participate in Process and component approval through PPAP and first article inspection procedures
? Perform audit of process, tooling, molding, etc. to ensure proper implementation of Process Control Plan and adherence to established and agreed upon process requirements.
? Assess supplier quality issues and challenges through systematic analysis and subsequent recommendations for continuous improvements.
? Validate and reinforce manufacturing and quality requirements including qualification testing, process control, inspection and validations plans and facilitate implementation throughout the supplier processes
? Establish and provide reporting of supplier quality performance and test results as needed
? Work with internal and external partners to drive quality programs for continuous improvements of materials, processes, tooling, testing methods, yield, and etc.
? Ideal candidate will be assigned to one or more critical supplier and will be spending more than 90% of their time managing the assigned supplier’s processes and delivery of high quality products.


Skills We’re Stoked About

? BSME, Master’s degree is highly preferred.
? 10 years molding and/or tooling experience, minimum of recent 6 years’ experience in supplier quality management. Previous experience working with U.S. and other international companies is highly preferred.
? Working knowledge of plastic injection molding, materials, and processes
? Highly skilled in the Tooling Process: plastic materials, molding, stamping, casting, fabrication; ?
? Highly skilled in Manufacturing Processes: injection molding, stamping, casting, fabrication; ?
? Demonstrated knowledge of engineering project management
? Strong tool design and build knowledge and DFM.
? Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
? Ability to make recommendations for processing, procedures, fixtures, and materials
? Specific software knowledge (i.e. ProE, AutoCAD)
? Knowledge of quality system management, Six Sigma tools and practices, 8D corrective action, FMEA, Control plans, Process Capability Analysis and Statistical Methods.
? Fluent in English & Mandarin with excellent verbal and written communication in English
