Roles
Shopee’s BD team consists of three major functions: marketing, seller acquisition and Incubation:
1. Marketing:
Shopee brand building in the cross border ecommerce circle in China
Compile marketing articles and publish to ecommerce medias and our wechat public account
Organize / participate in offline events, both Shopee initiated events and third party ecommerce organization events
2. Seller acquisition
Develop seller pipeline through external partnership with payment/logistics service providers, ecommerce organizations
Conduct due diligence research on sellers in the pipeline and prioritize the pipeline base on our criteria
Connect with prioritized sellers and onboard them to Shopee
3. Incubation
Provide onboarding training to the new sellers and guide them on initial product selection / pricing
Continuous support new sellers on campaign participation and monitor their operation performance during the 2-3 months incubation period
Monthly review on sellers in the Incubation pool and identify sellers to graduate to Key Account team or Mid-to-small seller team
Responsibilities:
· BD head will oversee all the three functions in the BD team: marketing, seller acquisition and incubation
· Be responsible of meeting or exceeding BD targets
· Allocate targets and tasks to team members and track progress
· Participate in recruiting to grow the BD team and coach new joiners
· Expect moderate travel within the region
Qualifications
· 7 + years business development experience or account management experience; Preferably in ecommerce or retail companies with strong interest in cross border ecommerce (export B2C) industry
· Experience of independently manage a team; organized and structured
· BA/BS degree required. Masters or MBA a plus. Academic background from a top University a strong plus
· Strong verbal and written communications skills; Good presentation skills
· Extensive customer & contact network
· Fluent in Mandarin & good handle on English
