Responsible for the management of the Supplier Quality Assurance functions in the Far East region. Ensure quality of products meets or exceeds internal and external customer requirements; training internal personnel and external vendors on World Kitchen’s customer requirements.
Responsibilities:
1. Set goals such as budgets, staff capabilities to achieve “Total Customer Satisfaction”.
2. Develop operating plans, procedures, polices and processes required to achieve World Kitchen’s strategic goals.
3. To achieve excellence in product quality so as to meet WKI objectives in cost, quality and services.
4. To assure that quality of WKI products meets customer/consumer requirements, WKI specifications and international standard.
5. To assure that WKI suppliers comply with the customer’s / WKI human rights and customs requirements.
6. Establish performance expectations for assigned staff.
7. Identify new resources. This includes items such as additional staff, reallocation of existing staff, outside suppliers.
8. Know all relevant functional responsibilities and critical issues within the Shenzhen office.
9. Maintain an efficient, orderly and clean work environment.
10. Explore all available alternatives and execute the best solutions for continuous improvement.
11. Establishes systems to monitor key performance measures and to improve supplier quality.
12. To approve reports on product inspection, product test and quality engineering evaluation.
13. Audits supplier’s manufacturing capability and monitors the quality performance of Suppliers and then works with the engineering team to drive Continuous Improvement projects and maintains a vendor certification program.
14. Maintains confidentiality of World Kitchen’s Designs and Processes.
15. Natural leader with keen ability to lead the local Shenzhen QA team by emphasizing supplier process “control” rather than product “inspection”.
Lean and Six Sigma Management: (By leveraging the Corporate Lean Architect)
1. Develop the Supplier Lean and Six Sigma transformation plan:
a. Objectives and targets setting
b. Resource selection and allocation
c. Transformation roadmap including planning, scheduling and sequencing
d. Communication to supplier base
2. Lead the transformation including:
a. Leading problem solving initiatives
b. Ensuing sustainability and supporting continuous supplier improvement
3. Develop own and build the Lean capabilities of the staff including:
a. Developing and deploying a robust Lean training program
b. Acting as a coach and mentor to employees and supply base
4. Deliver results
a. Deliver results for a successful supplier lean transformation
b. Successful transformation to include increased quality, productivity and cost reduction
STANDARD RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Follows all company safety and security rules.
2. Reports unusual conditions or problems to Supervisor.
3. Practices good housekeeping and organization. (5S)
4. Follows company dress code and rules of conduct.
5. Be a courteous and professional team player.
6. Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor.

g. Systems Analysis; Determining how a system should work and how changes in conditions, operations, and the environment will affect outcomes.
h. Systems Evaluation; Identify measures or indicators of system performance and the actions needed to improve or correct performance, relative to the goals of the system.
3. Physical Ability
a. Occasionally lift up to 35 pounds
b. Ability to grasp, push, pull and carry with arms.
c. Ability to manipulate and feel tools objects or controls with hands and fingers
d. Vision at or correctable to 20/20.
e. Close Vision
f. Color Vision
g. Hearing, sounds of varying loudness or pitch
h. Speech recognition; indentify & understand verbal communication from others
i. Speaking clearly so that others may understand you
4. Must be able to travel
DESIRED TECHNICAL SKILSS, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
1. Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Industrial or Quality Engineering.
2. At least 10 years of working experience in QA areas, preferably in plastics and/or house wares industry. Min. 5 years managerial experience. Or
3. Equivalent combination of education & experience
4. Familiar with ISO9000, ANSI/ASQC Z1.4-1993 (MIL-STD-105E), Statistical Process Control and/or Design of Experiment.
5. Basic computer skills
6. Fluent with Excel, Word, PowerPoint
7. Working knowledge of basic quality assurance tools (e.g. calipers, micrometers)
8. Able to read blue prints.
9. Knowledge of kitchen related products
