Job Responsibilities

? Work with Engineering and Supply Chain to review approved supplier / part number updates.
? Support worldwide design engineering teams on component selection.
? Work with Supply Chain Management to resolve supply issues. Identify alternate components.
? Evaluate end-of-life components and identify replacements with minimal impact to existing designs.
? Write / review ECOs and MCOs for component specification and changes.
? Work with Green Compliance team to provide component-level material content declarations in support of ROHS, REACH, and other emerging Environmental directives as needed.
? Maintain parts management policies as stated within Finisar systems and procedures including parts selection, application, qualification, and component release.
? Assigns new part numbers for components -- Electrical / Mechanical / Optical / Consumables.
? Implements and maintains Document Control system in Agile (parts, datasheets, etc…)
? Identify and implement process improvements to meet corporate quality goals.
? Partner with Commodity Management regarding Corporate Sourcing Strategy to identify and develop Preferred Suppliers and Strategic Component Partners.
? Data analysis.

Skills/Qualifications

? Bachelor of Science degree in Electronic / Electrical Engineering, Materials Science or related degree.
? 5-8 years of relevant Component Engineering experience in technology sectors, electronics, or the component / semiconductor industry. Experience as a design Engineer is a plus.
? Solid understanding of IC, active, passive and mechanical components.
? Able to complete assigned tasks in a timely manner. Proactive. Customer-service focus.
? Accurate. Excellent attention to detail. Organized.
? Flexible within a dynamic environment. Able to multi-task and reprioritize as needed.
? Ownership of an issue or project to resolution. Reliable follow-up and follow-through as needed.
? Team Player. Able to collaborate with team members around the world.
? Strong written and verbal English skills.
? Solid MS Excel skills are a plus (data tools, filters, pivot tables, logic formulas).
