Position Description: ARM MCU Software Engineer

Purpose:

The primary objective of this role is to develop software examples and tools for the ARM-based Microcontrollers product line.

Key responsibilities/duties:

1. Develop software examples for the peripherals of the ARM MCU products.

2. Develop development tools and programming tools for the ARM MCU products.

3. Write application notes or technical articles.

4. Participate in customer support of software solutions.

5. Involve in application level software design and development for various reference designs.

6. Involve in middleware development and embedded RTOS porting.

Position reports to:

ARM MCU Software Manager

Titles of position that report to this position:

None

Key relationships / interfaces:

Internal - Software team in France, local teams in Shanghai, support teams

External-Partners, design houses, customers

Requirements (indicate "must" or "preferred")

Key skills & knowledge (technical):

1. Must communicate fluently in English, either by reading, writing or speaking.

2. Must have a proven experience in development in C on embedded systems based on microcontrollers.

3. Preferred knowledge in metrology, smart meter related standards, specifications, AMR, AMI, Smart Grid, and direct experience in smart meter designs.

4. Preferred experience in embedded RTOS porting, such as uCOS-II, eCOS, etc.

5. Preferred knowledge of one or more communication protocols.

6. Preferred experience in middleware development.

7. Preferred capability to work in an international environment.

8. Preferred working experience in ARM based systems.

Language skills:

o English fluent-conversation, reading and writing.

Relevant Experience:

Minimum 2 years of embedded systems software development.

Experience of writing English technical documents.

Qualifications

Bachelor or Master Degree in Computer Science, with embedded system option.
