Position Description: Field Marketing Manager

Purposes

Field Marketing in MCU and vertical applications. Main responsibilities include driving MCU and vertical market design activities and revenues, identifying emerging markets and developing the market strategy together with product group, and executing MCU product and market strategies to local sales teams

Responsibilities/duties:

Work as part of Segment approach team - with BU Product Directors and Apps.

o Share in the MRD workload

o Multiply the effective customer validation "footprint"

Align Business Development team with identified MCU target segments

o Develop Technical Expertise in targeted segments

o Identify System / Solution requirements within Segment

o Develop / review segment / market collateral

o Develop relationships with key technology leads in major customers within Sector

o Identify and validate market requirements for future products within target sectors

Identify and verify new potential focus segments from bottoms up and formulate strategies on how to best to exploit emerging markets

Form alliance / partnership with key players in geographic regions

"Kick start" the sales success cycle by focusing first efforts on prequalified target customers

Enable the Distribution Segment to sell into all Atmel markets

Aggregate Horizontal Opportunities to identify applications trends

To acquire in-depth knowledge of relevant Atmel products and their relative applications

Participate in team design reviews as appropriate

Interact With

• Internal - Microcontroller BU, Corporate Support Team, Regional Sales Team, Channel Sales Team, Technical Support Team.
• External - Distributors, design houses, major clients, press, bodies and local authorities

Requirements (Mandatory)

Position/Skill Requirements:

• 7 to 15 years field Sales, field application or marketing experience in -
• Must have the ability to communicate effectively with multi-levels of internal and external interfaces
• Required regular travel national and international.
• Able to conduct a first phase technical suggestion for product design/defective analysis at customer.
• Microcontroller and embedded wireless application experience and knowledge
• Experienced in customer and account management
• A "hands-on" problem solver
• Experienced in customer and account management

Preferred Skills

• Embedded applications experience
• Good Presentations skill
• Good communicator

Language skills:

Fluent in English and Mandarin

Qualifications:

Degree in Electronics Engineering / Science,

Preferably having a MBA degree
