Position Summary
Support the firm’s business and client development strategies locally and across the China.
This will be achieved by applying market insight to highlight Marketing and Business Development (BD) opportunities; by providing high quality responses to pitch requests; preparing dynamic marketing materials; coordinating innovative BD campaigns; demonstrating effective engagement with the partners and other lawyers; and being a superior team player.
Key Accountabilities
Client Relationship Management
? Assist in the research, drafting and implementation of client action plans and client account management.
? Support Client Relationship Partners on the implementation of their client relationship program designed to develop relationships and work opportunities.
? Proactively identify potential opportunities and look for ways to bring more of KWM’s capabilities to clients, both inside China and internationally.
Practice Development / New Business
? Lead the development of capability statements (with limited supervision), including researching, English and Chinese drafting, and coordinating information and project management
? Provide support for and drafting tender responses.
? Owning the process of identifying key data and preparation of information for legal directories, league tables, surveys and awards.
? Developing key marketing materials such as brochures and information sheets.
? Maintaining all marketing collateral ensuring deal lists and awards remain up-to-date.
? Coordinate meetings, including assisting with the development of meeting agendas and minutes, and following up agreed actions.
? Assist with translation requirements for BD initiatives.
Integrated Marketing Campaigns / Brand Marketing
? Assisting with new business development campaigns and initiatives including sourcing and analysing market data to identify trends and opportunities.
? Work closely with the Business Development Managers and Media team on initiatives to raise the profile of the China practice teams’ capability and expertise.
? Liaise with other marketing specialists (ie events, communications) and other key shared services personnel, including globally, to help execute BD initiatives.

? Development of ideas and implementation support of initiatives aimed to raise the firm’s profile and deepen client and key stakeholder relationships.
? Development of strong working relationships with partners and lawyers as evidenced by feedback from them.
? Willingness to take on new responsibilities to support the firm’s strategy across the China practice teams.
? Consistent delivery of superior client service.
? Support the firm’s values and standards of professionalism and integrity, and is committed to the firm, its culture and goals.
Qualifications & Knowledge
Essential
? Tertiary qualifications in Marketing, Business, Commerce, or Law.
? 2 - 3 years post-qualification marketing or law experience.
? Advanced software skills notably Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
? Excellent English and Chinese writing skills - must be able to draft capability statements and related marketing collateral.
? People skills - must be able to liaise with all levels of staff.
? Good time management and organisational skills.
? Self-motivated including ability to work autonomously.
Desirable
? Professional Services background.
? Understanding of legal/professional services commercial focus.
Skills and Abilities
? Team player.
? Excellent attention to detail and follow through.
? Ability to produce high quality English and Chinese written and oral communications.
? Ability to prioritise, manage multiple tasks and deliver against deadlines.
? Ability to communicate effectively with senior management and partners.
? Practical and action orientated with a can-do attitude.
? Ability to project manage and draft capability statements and submissions.
? Ability to work effectively under pressure.
