Job Description-Research Analyst

Position: Generalist - Metals & Minerals

Number of Positions: 1

Reporting to: Damodharan. N, Team Lead, Metals and Minerals

Minimum Eligibility - MBA (Finance)


About the Domain: Metals & Minerals domain has such five broad sub-categories as Base Metals, Precious Metals, Steel & Stainless steel, Minor Metals & Rare Earths and Minerals.

Job Roles & Responsibilities:

Research analyst is responsible for performing market research (through both primary and secondary research) for metals & minerals categories, identifying potential suppliers, identifying and analysing the key trends, performing competitive analysis, analysing the price trends and authoring reports

1.Basis understanding of metals industry
2.Good understanding of macro-economic factors that influence pricing of metal commodities.
3.Ability to identify sources and extract information (secondary and primary sources).
4.Basic nuances on the economic behaviour of the supply/demand/price of the products.
5.Identification of various drivers of the products under research - cost/demand/price drivers.
6.Develop and maintain relationships with key supplier/ experts in the industry.
7.Taking complete ownership of project execution from scoping to report writing to client delivery
8.Keep the project manager informed of task accomplishment, issues and status.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

1.Ability to multi-task with strong attention to details
2.Demonstrated ability to work in a time sensitive environment
3.Understanding of trading concepts and exposure to metal commodity exchange trading is desirable
4.Exceptional interpersonal skills
5.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
6.Strong verbal and written communication skills (Chinese, Mandarin and English)
7.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Tools (Word, Excel, PPT)

Educational & Professional Credentials
Desired: - MBA in Finance
