MotionMetrics is dedicated to helping people improve technique at the sports they love. Empowered by our digital coaching technology our users have more fun and fewer injuries. To achieve this goal, we combine wearable technology and artificial intelligence to digitally replicate the instruction experience.
Our first product is Carv, a digital ski coach. Carv is a wearable that fits into any ski boot and gives you feedback as you ski through connected app and headphones. Earlier this year we released Carv on Kickstarter where it raised over $275,000 – breaking the record for the highest funding sports wearable. Job Description
We are looking for an experienced and talented UI designer to extend the user interface of the Carv digital ski coaching app. The app guides users through the instruction process, first analysing their technique as they ski, then recommending drills and giving feedback on the performance during drill.
The job will require you to quickly understand the character of our current interface and then adapt it to incorporate the newest generation of features. This is no mean feat, few products have created true teaching experience and this has never been done for skiing. During the process you will be working under the guidance of our UX advisor, Nico Abbruzzese (https://goo.gl/kDxFbv), former Global Director of Creative Technology at Maxus.
The winning candidate will be responsible for:
1. General review of the UI flow.
2. Review of the drills
3. Add the freeski section
4. Review connection UI
In terms of skills, we’re looking for:
1. Sketch experience
2. Mobile UI experience - iOS, Android. Familiarity with the UI language of both OSes
3. Experience with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
4. At least 2 past projects, preferably on sketch
Our whole team is currently located in Shenzhen, China. The ideal candidate will join us here in our office. However, we understand that this isn’t always possible and will consider remote working for the right candidate. This post is for a contract of 3 months at half to full time. Provided we see a good fit a successful completion of the contract will result in a full time offer.
