Manager VPS Integrator

Employment – full time

Tasks

- The VPS manager role is to develop, plan and integrate the implementation of VPS activities (both as standard operating procedures and special project based activities) within the designated Technology

- The role is also to link between the VPS Program Leader of BMW Brilliance Automotive / technologies, necessary internal and external positions (e.g. consulting organization) and the line functions (e.g. painted body, assembly, logistic) regarding the VPS topics

Key Responsibilities

- Coordinates VPS-Activities if necessary also technology overarching and along the value stream within the plant. Therefore cost, quality, production technology and Ergonomics need to be within the focus. A holistic total optimum must be achieved

- Consults the line functions during analysis and optimization of processes along the holistic value stream within the area of responsibility

- Program Planning - Develop and Maintain the VPS roll-out plan. Ensure VPS activities are Steered and Controlled through existing project structures

- Application of VPS - Plan & Conduct VPS events to inspire organization. Coach & support ongoing VPS activities (Kaizen, Process analysis, 5S etc.)

- VPS philosophy - Communicate the philosophy and principles of VPS to all levels within the designated technology

- VPS measurement & Administration - Prepare timely status reports providing transparency of all VPS activities

- Process Improvement/Transformation projects - Deploy the strategic framework for the application of VPS methods and tools

- Status of Maturity - Co-ordinate the maturity measurement process

- Prioritize the daily activities of the VPS-methodiker. Provide inspiration and share local and international standards that can assist the racking team

- Communication - Design and development of 'media' to support the effective communication of VPS strategy within the technology

- Best Practice - Development of best practice and relevant methods to enable VPS philosophy to be applied consistently as part of process improvement

- VPS Training delivery to associates

- Reports to the VPS program leader the implementation and program status

- Leads local VPS team and ensures people development

Qualifications

- Qualified to Bachelor in Engineering or equivalent. Preferred qualified to Masters Degree level in Automotive engineering

- Manufacturing & Logistics operations

- VPS philosophy and principles

- Effective communication skills

- VPS tools and techniques

- Understanding of line balancing techniques

- Team leadership - cross functional teams

- Workshop facilitation

- Competency project planning and management

- Proficient English, German would be of advantage

- Knowledge of Health & Safety and Environmental standards

- Competency VPS Training delivery to associates

- Lead team - target achievement and people develop

- Indirect VPS Knowledge

- Direct VPS Knowledge

- Competency Overall process opportunity identification

- Working Scope

- Considerable experience in working within a Manufacturing environment,7-10 years

- Considerable experience in leading team and developing people,1-3 years
