Responsibilities:

1. Lead the development of strategic business plans for the responsible business areas. The business plan includes defining the key target customers, BCS strategies and tactics, action plans, resource requirements and KPIs. The incumbent is required to align these business plans with goals of BCS China, APAC and global through close communication.

2. Accountable for effective management of specific portfolio assets, encompassing positioning, branding, life-cycle management, pricing strategy, profitability, packaging, demand forecasting and allocation for our assets during campaign periods.

3. Responsible for the Field Crops Promotion & Information (P&I) budget. Work closely with the Marketing Operations Manager to ensure timely delivery and prioritised use of P&I resources to maximize sales campaign effectiveness.

4. Proactively work with Government Affairs & Lobbying, Marketing Operations and Technical Extension to nominate, allocate resource and ensure successful implementation and fruitful conclusion of government projects relating to field crops. Optimize communication of these activities/projects results to support sales.

5. Provide inspired leadership among team members to promote a positive working culture in line with Bayer LIFE values. Set performance standards and give timely feedback on subordinates’ performance. The incumbent is responsible to hold performance review and development dialogue with his/her staff, and recommends talents for further development. The incumbent is also responsible to ensure subordinates actions are in compliance with Bayer’s policies, rules and regulations.

Requirements:

1. Master degree or MBA in business studies, marketing, agriculture or life sciences.

2. Strong leadership and managerial skills, strategic and creative “out-of-the box” thinking, good analytical abilities, good communicator and able to work well cross-functionally.

3. At least 10 years demonstrated performance in crop protection or seed businesses, with experience in sales and marketing management. Demonstrated passion for leading people and delivering results, and a natural talent for building trust and earning respect.

4. Highly motivated, strong initiative, positive attitude and a willingness to develop and/or accept new ideas. The incumbent must be willing to accept the high degree of accountability and exert influence in a matrix organization. He/she must be willing to travel within and outside China on regular basis.
