Essential Functions
*Design activity
Tooling design for stamping (single compound and progressive dies)
Heading tooling on horizontal machines 1 die/2 blow
Tooling for secondary operations.
Equipment on machines.
Machine guarding.
Equipment layouts.

*Manufacturing processes and instructions
Routers and Master routers
Work instructions (WI)
Instructions for machine set-up (IMS)
Bill of materials (BOM)

*Bill of tooling or tool layout
The engineer creates and/or updates the bill of tooling by item to manufacture

*Item Master
The engineer creates and updates the items to manufacture or to buy in the ERP system implemented in the location.

*Training modules
Machine setup
Manufacturing processes

*Trouble shooting related to:
Manufacturing processes
Tooling fabrication
Stamping
Fixtures
Setup

*Engineering changes
The engineer is in charge of the ECN (Engineering Change Notice) of:
Product manufacturing drawings
All designs (Tooling – Machine equipments)
Work instructions
Instructions for machine set-up (IMS)
Training modules

*Continuous improvements
Lead and execute cost saving projects through introduction of
New tooling
New lubricant
New manufacturing processes
New operating parameters


*Procurement and Purchase Request (PR)
The engineer will prepare the PR to get quotes for tooling, machines and equipments.
Help with sourcing, qualification and supplier selection

*Other Duties and Responsibilities：
Other tasks may be assigned as business required and by supervisor / Manager


Experience & Skills & Background:
-Background in metal stamping design, fixture design preferred.
-4 to 5 years experience.
-Tooling development independently
-Knowledge of development and manufacturing technology.
-Knowledge of Raw material and heat treatment for tooling
-2D design software
-3D modelling software. (Solidworks preferred)
-Microsoft office knowledge and especially Excel/Powerpoint
-Other software knowledge:
ERP (Engineering module – QAD preferred)
Visio
-Continuous improvement concept - ABS (equivalent to TPS) 举报 分享
