Key Responsibilities:
o Motivates and manages the performance and development of Design Engineers who report to him/her.
o Provides effective and responsive manufacturing engineering support to operations in meeting the business objectives of quality, on time delivery and cost.
o Each project will have assigned resources on full or part time bases. These must be managed to ensure customer specifications, agreed timescales and costs are achieved.
o Manages the overall performance of the business unit as a member of the business unit management team.
o Supports teamwork and staff development through a commitment to mentoring and technical leadership.
o To be proactive with proposals and plans for the enhancement of company technical knowledge for present and future customer requirements to set outlined objectives.
o To be proactive with proposals and plans for value engineering / cost reduction programs to improve profitability
o Provide concise factual reports on program progress on a timely basis. Ensure all documentation is correctly completed and distributed.
o Ensures relevant documentation is prepared and updated in line with all ISO Quality and Regulatory guidelines.
o Provides project management leadership to ensure effective planning and timely execution of all agreed projects including product transfers and scale-ups.
o Keeps abreast of and concentrate on all technological advancements and potential opportunities to the team.
o Maintains and develops the team's technical, device and trouble shooting skills.
o Sustains an environment of continuous improvement.
Ideal Candidates will have:
o A proven track record in Management with 5+ year experience in a similar position along with appropriate people management skills,
o A thorough understanding of process characterization & improvement and the ability to coach and mentor engineers.
o A good understanding of 3D Design packages such as Inventor or AutoCAD is necessary.
o Effective Project management experience is vital for this role.
o Excellent written and spoken English abilities
o Solid experience in fast and efficient problems solving and clarification of technical issues with international locations
o International education background
o Professional appearance in an international business environment
o Highest quality understanding
o This person will ideally have experience in a machining or fabrication environment.
Applications will only be accepted from candidates who are willing to work in Kunshan for a period in excess of 4 years.
