Role Profile: R&D Manager Hardware A/P

Key Responsibilities:
? Together with the R&D Director and BDG Director to drive the innovation process and the strategic hardware NPD planning and the definition of the innovation pipeline.
? Lead and control projects incl. planning, budget, design and start-up of production with production partner up to production handoff stage of project.
? Is responsible for the on time and on spec delivery of the NPD projects defined in the Master Plan incl. the set-up of specification and quality assurance methods for new or purchased products.
? Responsible for IP (patent search, patent application and monitor patent landscape of competitors) in the projects he/she’s responsible for.
? Run creativity/product idea workshops.
? Communicate and coordinate with marketing colleagues in A/P for new projects.
? Communicate and regularly up-date on new products / categories/ technologies in the market place and colleagues in RTC in Europe and Americas.
? Presentation of projects to senior management / regional NPD Leadership Team.
? Maintain/develop technical expertise in areas of responsibility – attending trade fairs, training programs and monitoring literature.

Professional Experience and Education:
? University degree in Mechanical Engineering/Material Science.
? Minimum 5+ years’ experience in R&D, innovation management, product development and design preferably in global operating consumer goods companies.
? Good/solid background in plastics/injection molding design work.
? Experience of injection molding or tool making is a plus.
? Hans-on person with outstanding technical and project mgt skills and proven track record of successful projects.
? Strong analytical skills and strategic thinking and ability to translate consumer needs into innovation and new products.

Specific skills and knowledge:？
? Fluently written and verbal English skills.
? Knowledge and familiar in using SolidWorks or similar 3D software.
? Knowledge in IP and IP processes and experience of patent managerial experience is a merit.
? Very good people management & team orientation skills, ability to communicate to different levels of the organization.
? Self-confident to express and to defend his/her position.
