Purpose of the position
Identifies and implements opportunities to further develop the business to reach market leadership with competitive and innovative products/solutions. Defines the long term strategy and roadmap of the products/solutions over the whole life-cycle. Further establishes development-, technology- and process engineering know-how and operates an efficient laboratory with the required range of services.
Responsibilities
? Leads the work and resources, develops staff to ensure that they achieve company’s mission and objectives.
? Research and analyse market conditions, identify competitors, technologies and customer trends, articulate market requirements and opportunities.
? Ensures for his assigned categories that all regions (Europe, China, South East Asia and Middle East) are equipped with competitive products/solutions, keeping the portfolio as standardized as possible and as complex as necessary.
? Defines requirements for new products and solutions and prepares performance- and functional specifications, business plans and white papers.
? Coordinates and is responsible for the timely implementation of new products and solutions.
? Defines the GIRP (Global Reference Price).
? Works closely with sourcing regarding supplier management and development and prepares the supplier lists for the regional organizations.
? Maintain a technology framework for selecting, prioritizing and allocating resources to technology and development projects.
? Further development of existing and new technologies and manufacturing technologies in close cooperation with operations.
? Responsible for the product data for own manufactured and sourced products and solutions.
? Supports and initiates strategies and measures to increase profitability with better product design.
? Regular personal contact with internal organizations and most important suppliers and coordination of activities with all related functions of the organizations to obtain optimum utilization and appropriate quality of services.

Education and working experience
? A proven record of success in senior-level product- or category management, with solid (mechanical) ICT or/and electrical background.
? Extensive experience in product- or category management and development/engineering in cabling infrastructure and technologies.
? Several years of leadership, management of people and resources with proven track record.
? Experienced in the preparation and implementation of marketing concepts.
Language and IT skills
? Excellent communication in English (both spoken and written)
? Very good skills in MS Office, SAP skills beneficial
Special requirements
? Leadership-, communication-, organizational-, analytical- and problem-solving skills.
? Highly customer oriented.
? High level of cost-consciousness and commercial awareness.
? Solutions oriented, strong performer, powerful team player, used to transform ideas into reality and project-oriented work.
