Stamping/metal forming company seeks experienced Tooling Engineer for its corporate Engineering team. Must be fluent in English and requires a minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar position. Position responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
? Responsible for processing and quoting progressive and line dies including annual cost savings goals.
? Work with the customer on the development of new parts.
? Manage all timelines, budgets, and activities pertaining to Dies including design and design reviews, build and tryout, feasibility studies, APQP, tooling approvals and buy-offs, Run to Rate, PPAP submissions, and hand-off to production as well as provide follow-up support such as troubleshooting, engineering changes, etc.
? Ensure Dies are to correct standards and press specs.
? Ensure Dies make a quality, repeatable part, and dies are production ready.
? Coordinate the design, construction, and lead tryout of new tooling (internal and external).
? Coordinate engineering changes through the tool room. Generate and distribute tooling progress reports as required.
? Attend and actively participate in the APQP meetings and associated activates (Tryouts, PPAP, Run to Rate, etc.).
? Lead tooling process improvement activities.
? Investigate and implement new tooling technology i.e. coating, steel, etc.
? Work with Quality Control personnel to oversee needed tooling changes to remedy CSR issues. Document corrective action in a format to be forwarded to the customer as verification of changes taken to remedy the issue.
? Work with Quality Control personnel to address 8D issues with our tooling or processes. Coordinate Engineering and Tool Room support to remedy quality concerns. Document/verify completion of required changes in a format to be forwarded to the customer as Corrective Action taken.
? Coordinate efforts between the Tool Room and Quality Control, to ensure the monthly die recertification requirements are completed and all applicable paperwork is documented according to TS16949 standards.
Qualifications/Competencies
? Must be a Journeyman Tool & Die Maker
? 7+ years in Automotive Manufacturing
? Project Management
? Problem Solving/Analysis
? Technical skills in engineering management, quality assurance and costing
? Demonstrable leadership skills
? Teamwork orientation
? Must be fluent in English and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
