Announced in mid 2010, this business will be providing avionics systems for China’s first large commercial aircraft, the COMAC C919. Essential Responsibilities

The Flight Design Leader will guide, direct and execute the development of the next generation flight deck. This position has direct schedule, budget, and technical responsibility for all advanced flight deck design activities. In this role, you will: • Establish priorities and budgets for next generation flight deck development • Lead a multi-discipline team in developing advanced flight deck concepts, establishing and documenting requirements, and prototyping these concepts for further evaluation. • Manage execution to budget and schedule requirements. • Coordinate technology development needs with other Advanced Design Organization specialists (Processing, Displays, Human Centered Design, Networking) to ensure technology roadmaps are aligned to support the advanced flight deck concepts. • Coordinate closely with business development and project execution teams to understand customer needs and desires relating to flight deck evolution. • Provide technical leadership in design reviews, task force, industrial committees, and design boards as necessary • Support business proposal activities to bring forward the advanced flight deck concepts into proposed solutions. • Determine areas where technology advancements are needed and recommend approaches / programs to pursue • Provide input and guidance to the overarching technology roadmaps.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college • Minimum of 10 years technical experience in architecture and development of avionics systems in one or more of the following areas: Display systems, Crew Interfaces (information or controls) • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Leadership positions
