Essential Responsibilities

The JV IR&D Pursuit Engineering Focal is responsible for managing complex R&D projects, developing systems level roadmaps, identifying opportunities for new integration plays and coordinating engineering efforts for commercial aircraft avionics systems and aircraft computing platform pursuits. This position will require close coordination with the business pursuit team in aligning the strategic research pursuit to meet the business roadmap objectives. In this role, you will: • Identify enabling and discriminating technologies and Intellectual Property (IP) required to achieve business objectives. • Provide systems engineering expertise and oversee the development of system architectures and roadmaps for civil avionics and integrated aircraft systems. • Identify potential sources of external research and development funding (private or government) and lead pursuit activities to secure the external funding. • Work closely with business development pursuit teams to coordinate research and development pursuits with commercial program pursuits. • Interact with customer engineering organizations to define and shape the requirements for future aircraft systems. • Consult with and support the Chief Engineer’s Office in the execution of technical goals of the office • Work with other business and engineering stakeholders to determine areas where technology advancements are needed and recommend approaches / programs to pursue • Support development and definition of technology roadmaps that feeds into product roadmap

Qualifications/Requirements

• Masters or Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college • Minimum of 10 years technical experience with major aircraft/avionics development programs • Willingness and ability to travel internationally, as required.
