Job Title: Sr. Solution Delivery Manager
Reporting Structure: Reporting to Regional Solution Services Leader
This role has direct supervisory responsibilities.
Overall Job Purpose This position is responsible to execute the delivery of IT projects from the late stage of Proposal Phase to Deploy Phase with an appropriate level of computer system quality by utilizing professional project management methodologies, such as the Critical Chain Project Management. This position is also responsible for the transition of IT solutions to Service Management Team. Is accountable for all aspects of solution delivery in ensuring the implemented solution meets business needs. Is accountable to ensure appropriate architecture alignment and adherence to IT business process model. Is accountable to follow global / regional guidelines for IT sourcing and managing / coordinating with external partners for solution delivery.
Key Job Responsibilities
(Roles):
1. Project Manager
? Is accountable for communication with stakeholders, Business Engagement Team, Go Team/Portfolio Management Team, business partners and other related members within the scope of project management.
? Is accountable to ensure there is a project charter for every project.
? Ensures an integrated project plan is build and maintained in professional manner, such as Critical Chain Project Management methodology
? Analyzes project status and risk/issue at a high level, and facilitates resolution.
? Influences adjustments to project schedule, budget, resources, and activities as deem necessary
? Influences the prioritization of work across various projects for the team in alignment with EMJ IT governance process
? Communicates the impact of project changes to Solution Delivery Manager and Portfolio & Resource Manager
? Ensures execution of OCM plan, as a part of the overarching project plan
? Educates project team members on project processes and methodologies
? Facilitates identification and support roles and responsibilities
? Is accountable for coordination of and assuring integration of all program components, including projects and establishing the program environment. This includes creating and integrating program management change control processes and establishing methodology standards for the program and standards for monitoring.
? Drives and controls Program/Project Scope Management - including prioritizing projects within the program, initiating projects; planning, defining and verifying scope; and establishing and leading scope change control processes at the Program Level.
? Assists in monitoring and controlling Project Cost Management - including resource planning and estimating, budgeting and controlling costs at the Program Level.
2. Business Analyst
? Understands the goals, objectives and business strategy of the assigned business area
? Analyzes existing business processes and participates in reengineering efforts
? Understands the business problems and needs effectively
? Uses systematic and documented approaches, investigates business requirements, works with Solution Evaluation team to identify and analyzes multiple solution alternatives and proposes one alternative based on comparative cost benefit analysis
? Understands business requirements and effectively works with related IT teams (Business Engagement, Service Management, EIS, etc) to translate business needs and process into technical terms, and vice versa
? Ensures appropriateness of business requirements
? Provides business process subject-matter expertise to technical resources
? Participates in design reviews for important projects to ensure traceability of requirements
? Stays abreast of latest technology standards (e.g. LISA)
? Participates in assessing end users' training needs and contributes to the development of the OCM plan
? Ensures appropriate business roles are engaged in solution execution
? Supports client acceptance testing
? Possesses general awareness and knowledge of regulatory, legal, or quality requirements (e.g., Sarbanes-Oxley, privacy regulations, GxP) impacting the business area, and ensures solution requirements include appropriate points
? Ensures user acceptance criteria are defined for system deployment and supports client acceptance testing
? Ensures that incident, problem, configuration, and change/release management are all done with alignment and understanding of business need
? Negotiates clear service levels for IT services based on business requirements
3. Quality Analyst
? Understands Lilly System Engineering Framework (LSEF), CSV policies and procedures, SOPs and business processes for assigned customer area
? Participates in activities to estimate time for review of validation deliverables
? Monitors project timetable and progress for quality tasks, manages project issues related to quality/validation
? Participates in continuous improvement for documentation and validation processes
? Coaches system custodians, system owners, project team members, and other resources by participating in up-front planning activities, risk assessment activities, providing feedback on validation decisions and deliverables
? Ensures and reinforces the Computer Systems Quality (CSQ) policies and procedures
? Ensures change requests are executed in compliance with local change control procedures
? Assists Admin Services & IT Compliance Team with internal audit and external inspection preparation
4. Test Coordinator
? Consults on testing processes and deliverables within local Lilly Systems Engineering Framework (LSEF) implementation
? Scans environment for emerging new testing tools/processes and informs architects of these
? Ensures good testing practices are followed
? Possesses deep knowledge in and application of policies, procedures and regulations regarding testing.
? Mentors individuals to improve their ability to make quality-related decisions around testing.
? Participates in the design of testing strategies, assessment tools, processes or methods with a focus on operational use and reusability across functional areas.
5. Technology Integrator
? Anticipates the implications of technical decisions on our partners' business, the IT business, and/or the existing IT portfolio
? Implements innovative approaches when integrating new technologies supporting business transformation
? Modifies existing systems or integrates packaged systems with existing infrastructure to meet business requirements.
? May perform or support data integration
? Ensures Lilly information assets are protected from malicious content and access to information is restricted to authorized personnel only
? Anticipates the implications of technical decisions on regulatory compliance requirements and advises project teams and solution owners accordingly
6. Supplier Manager
? Understands the needs of the business areas, and is able to meet the needs using the appropriate resource type, supplier, and contract structure.
? Communicates and educates within the area the supplier relationship owners for the key suppliers, the appropriate vendor interactions, contract relevant points, and issue escalation paths.
? Manages the ESP fulfillment process and/or product fulfillment process.
? Establishes and document a formal communication and governance process between Lilly and the supplier.
? Identifies, mitigates, and monitors supplier risks associated with the engagement with the supplier.
? Ensures Vendor Management Plans are created and maintained.
