Job Description

The Category Purchaser is actively supporting the category management in the definition of the supply strategy and negotiation with suppliers to achieve best market conditions for category.

Dimensions:

1. Dealing with Asian PVO 2015: around 20 mil EUR

2. EAS suppliers and other EAS issues in Asia by communicating with suppliers

3. Close communication with main Asian locations (Icheon, Sejong, Wuhu, Shanghai, Singapore, etc.)

Task Area:

Material strategy

1. Representation of the Purchasing Organization Category EAS in Asia

2. Participate in definition and implementation of a category strategy aligned with the requirements of the business units

3. Supports the strategy definition process with cross functional partners

4. Close cooperation with Corporate Category Manager in the definition and implementation of the strategy

5. Ensures Continentals requirements are reflected in the strategy

6. Ensures fulfilment of requirements with legally binding contracts

Data maintenance

1. Documents and implements the Strategy and Roadmap for own Category in all BUs

2. Ensures in time implementation of correct data in the respective systems

3. Ensures proper information exchange to/from suppliers to secure capacity needs

4. Support planning, controlling and reporting of objectives within defined area of

responsibility and implement corrective actions where applicable

Change management

1. Support re­design to cost / cost reduction programs

2. Act as escalation level for plant purchasing

3. Achieve Best market conditions

4. Conducts market analysis on potential supplier and sub­supplier

5. Develop potential new and existing suppliers

6. Manage suppliers to ensure excellent performance

7. Support improvement programs with suppliers

8. Evaluation and qualification of potential suppliers

9. Material Targets Achievement

10. Negotiate prices/conditions with suppliers

11. Initiate and drive regional and worldwide pooling activities to ensure optimum use of purchasing power to maximize contribution to operating result

12. Drive sourcing process on assigned supplier / locations including supplier selection, price and contract negotiations

13. Perform correct budget planning, annual price negotiation and secure fulfillment of material budget within area of responsibility

Job Requirement

1 .Academic technical studies and additional economic background (Bachelor degree or above) or Academic economical studies and additional technical background Bachelor degree or above)

2. Strong knowledge about project management, automotive quality standards and very profound technical skills in order to develop new supplier.

3. Above 3 year of experience in different purchasing functions or project manager functions (Automotive experience is preferred, but it doesn't have to be Automotive only if a candidate is well qualified.)

4. Entrepreneurial skills to define potential business models with new suppliers and negotiation, presentation, communication skills and assertiveness, team skills and flexibility.

5. Good English skills (in writing and speaking)

6. Confident in using the usual MS Office programs

7. Basic experience in working with SAP R/3

8. Strong network ability within the Asian supply market

9. Willing to travel
