REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
·Four-year undergraduate degree, preferably in a technical discipline.
·Minimum of three years of purchasing or sourcing experience in an automotive environment, preferably with a background in the metals industry and low-cost country sourcing.
·Ability to work in a matrix reporting structure, with experience balancing multiple priorities.
·Excellent analytical, organizational and communication (oral & written) skills. Ability to speak German and/or Chinese a plus.
·Ability and willingness to develop and drive implementation of strategies to a successful conclusion.
·Advanced capabilities utilizing MS Office products and MRP systems, preferably with MFG Pro (QAD).
·Strong teamwork skills with the ability to challenge, influence and build consensus.


PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:


1.Prepare and manage RFQ process within the commodity including preparation and recommendation of sourcing decisions.
2.Manage day to day issues within commodity and support Global Commodity Manager and Regional Manager in goal obtainment.
3.Effectively manage multiple quoting and sourcing activities within the region to support new & current business including supplier changes within a dynamic and time-sensitive environment.
4.Require and analyze cost breakdowns from suppliers to ensure best cost and quality for the organization.
5.Work with external suppliers and internal customers to meet aggressive cost reduction and continuous improement initiatives through effective identification, prioritization and implementation of opportunities.
6.Support the negotiation of commercial terms and implementation of supplier contracts with respect to items such as cost, tooling, lead time, shipping, warranty & inventory and payment terms.
7.Support the Global Commodity Manager and Regional Manager in development and implementation of strategies and/or supplier strategies within the region.
8.Monitor and manage the implementation of key milestones for each program.
9.Support the region’s finance, quality and logistics functions where necessary to ensure the lowest cost, highest quality, and most reliable delivery of components and materials.
10Prepare, review and communicate reports on activities and goal attainment for the region to the Global Commodity Manager and Regional Purchasing Manager
11.Perform all duties in a professional and ethical manner and maintain Company confidentiality at all times.
12.Perform other duties as assigned.
